Shhhhh about the Sterling, so few of those in PSA 10 pop up on eBay.

Seriously though, I would do that one and eTopps. I also echo 175 and add in Finest to the mix.

Picked up the basic RCs last year including the sterling and glad I did. This year added a gold, diamond and cognac us175 to the mix. As well as a finest and finest auto. Really glad I did. They pop. Will pickup a blue Walmart to complete the rainbow. Red is out of my league.

Grabbing a finest auto is a solid move I think. Sites set next on a finest refractor.

Now I’m hoarding heritage 2011-2014 trouts of all varieties.

Nice - wish I was in on some of those rookie variations early, as well as a 2009 Bowman (btw, are all 2009 Bowman autos, or are there non-autos - never see non-autos up for sale). I have been working on the Heritage & flagship variations and the colored parallels for 2012-2014 releases. Those have been rising as well.

All 2009s are autos. All 2011s are non autos except for those that were signed in person via private signing or at park and such.

There is only one on card auto in 2011 - finest. That’s why it’s a keeper

The last Quad 9.5 did $2,650+ I think.

Curious to hear what your offer was on a min-gem.

And no.... you're not crazy. He's only 27 and career trajectory still looks solid.

He is already #102 overall in Career WAR.... he has a 5.3 WAR currently through the halfway mark. Say he doubles it...that will put him at 74.8 and he will finish the season ranked 79th. Say he averages 8.5 WAR the next 5 seasons...he will be 32 and finishing his 14th MLB season... his WAR will be 117.3 and he will rank 17th in career WAR. Again... after his 14th season... everyone above him played an average of 22 seasons.

Keep in mind... and it's scary to think about... he is just now entering his prime. That's why I said 5 seasons.... his prime years. 8.5 is likely basement level..but wanted to factor in a down year or injury like in 2017

27-31 are the golden years for most players. The combination of peak mental and physical ability. Trout's curve has been higher than most, but why wouldn't he have a similar trajectory?

You are not crazy, I wouldn’t sell mine for that price. The tax is by state, I have only paid tax so far for items from sellers from my state.

I personally wouldn’t spend more than $1k on that.. especially since it’s a sticker auto. It’s obvious rare and a PSA 10, but not desired in my opinion. It’s not even a 2011 or 2009 card. I’m sure there are other Trout collectors that may be willing to spend way more than $1k on that (for the auto, rarity, and grade), but it’s not a card I personally would break the bank for.

Agreed. It’s a niche card that has to be explained. Sticker auto also kills it. Even at 1k there are many other cards I would rather have
