As much as it would suck for collectors, I wonder if BGS might be better off by just dropping the non-guaranteed service.
Yeah thats a tough spot. If they drop/suspend it, then everyone is going to use PSA bulk. Once you see a trend going towards sending Bowman Autos to PSA and the eBay prices follow suit, then BGS is going have some major issues.

Has anyone noticed BGS being tougher on grading lately?

on the min order how much did they charge you for the ones that didn't meet the requirement compared to the ones that graded?

Same price for all. I did 9.5 minimum grade b/c my rep told me it would grade faster. HA! I think I paid $9 a card but it was so long ago I don't remember.

I've already started sending stuff to PSA. Beckett has lost me forever.

So bulk bgs is so far underwater to be impractical, but does anyone know the wait time for bccg graded cards?

Who cares. Bccg is pointless. Better off keeping it raw than having a bccg slab

Its true I had a card that was graded Mint or better had bgs crack it out of the case to grade it and they graded it an 8.5. I will personally never buy a BCCG again unless it is a card I plan to keep in my PC with no intentions of grading.

false...... there are some specific ebay sellers that use bccg grading.... instead of selling a raw 7 or 8 it likely equates to a bccg 9 or 10.... the appeal of a buyer to buy a bccg card in 9 or 10 is much higher than a raw 7 or 8 with those same noticeable flaws

FWIW, I checked with my Beckett rep, and he confirmed that BCCG are the same timeline as the BGS non-guaranteed service.

I kind of fell for it a little. I tried the whole BCCG regrade project and results were mixed. Even though I benefited BIG time from it, it's a risk I likely shouldn't have taken. But sometimes they sell for more under the assumption that "this card could be a 10!" Well...it could be an 8 or lower too, but we don't want to think of that!

I have purchased 3 BCCG 10 cards in hopes of cracking/subbing to PSA. It's tempting to believe a BCCG 10 is "at least a PSA 9 with the possibility of a 10." Answer is a hard No. Here are the results:

1. 1987 Fleer Sticker Michael Jordan BCCG 10. Purchased for $180. High grade values: PSA 10=$8-10K. PSA 9=$300+

Crossed to a PSA 7 due to a speck of paper loss on the front (had it been a normal BGS grade, the paper loss would have triggered an 8 on the surface sub--with all other subs being GEM--overall 9...however with PSA, any paper loss seems to max the card out at a 7--regardless of the rest of the card.

Current value: $25-30 ($150+ loss).

2. 1989 Fleer Michael Jordan BCCG 10. Purchased for $30. High grade values: PSA 10=$100+. PSA 9=$20.

Crossed to a PSA 9. OK...low end card--no big deal.

Current value: $20 ($10 loss)

3. 1984 OPC Steve Yzerman BCCG 10. Purchased for $110. High grade values: PSA 10=$800+. PSA 9=$165+

Crossed to a PSA 10!

Current value: $800+ ($690 gain)

Obviously hit the jackpot with the Stevie Y, but took a huge hit on the Jordan sticker--a hit that could ALWAYS be the case with any BCCG 10 out there. The misconception BCCG 10 caused me to overpay for 2 of the 3 cards simply due to the possibility of a higher grade. I am probably done with that gamble--as I doubt I'll stay ahead if I continue to roll the dice.

My BGS non-guaranteed sub is closing in on 11 months. I just got an email from the BGS rep saying that if I would be willing to switch to the service that does not offer sub grades they could have the order complete in the next 2 weeks. I passed.

I have not had any reps reach out to me 10 months will be September 10th i did see they have a new promo and changed their submission form and levels again. I wonder if this will set it back even more. I even sent them an easy order 60 cards of which I think 45 were raw reviewed. The order posted a couple days before nationals but grades have yet to come pop. Curious how big was your order?

Due to the wait?

I am a magic card collector and becket is king in magic over PSA but curious as to why so many hate BGS.

Is this is a real question in a multi-page thread about how long BGS is taking? Lol....did you read any of the rest of the thread?

Is this a function of a booming economy and people buying combined with Beckett's inability or desire to expand to meet demand?

Yeah, I don't get it. Should be relatively straight forward to simply hire more graders. Almost seems like they're actually trying to kill this side of their business.

I’ve just passed 11 months, so you probably have 1-2 months+ wait still. I hope it doesn’t break the 1-year mark for me, but at this point it doesn’t matter. I’ll never use their service again, and beg everyone I know to never use it either.

10 months today. Talked to the Beckett rep I work with. The new promo takes priority over Non-Guaranteed. Also he stated Non-Guaranteed is at 11 months. My guess is it will probably get pushed back to a year or more after this promo. Maybe by Christmas I'll have my cards back.
