Massive overpay from the Rockets. They need a reset - they are collecting a bunch of non winning players and people with bad attitudes. Not a good recipe for success.
Yup Rockets spending money just to spend money.

It's scary because everyone is banking in more significant cap increases in the future.

Cap is at 133 now. That's why solid rotation players are getting 20% of that and guys who won't come close to All-Stars are getting 30% (or more).

Something goes bad, cap stops increasing this much and some deals are gonna look horrible. I'm shocked owners are not pushing for more.

I don't mind the FVV fit for Houston.

Vet presence, low turnovers, and - despite his fg% - still decent behind the arc. When he's on, he cooks. Most importantly, he's become a much better facilitator these past few years and is very scrappy on defense.

Definitely an upgrade over KPJ and still has a lot more left in the tank than Harden.

Seth Curry to Mavs on 2 year deal, didn't see a number attached yet. Not a bad pickup

Very interesting that teams seem more inclined for higher AAV but less years given the 2nd apron issue most of the league is destined to run into.

That Grant deal though....Woof.

Former No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker is back with the team that drafted him, at least for a few games in July. The Bucks announced today that Parker is on their Las Vegas Summer League roster.

Heat are trading Victor Oladipo to the OKC Thunder. Victor was so excited he immediately put the jersey on and got to work......

That's just a natural byproduct of modern day free agency and the mainstream popularity of the superteam concept and player collusion.

Basement dwelling, rebuilding squads won't even get a second glance from all-star talent unless they toss out stupid FU money.

D Rose as Ja's stand-in isn't bad. Especially for 2/6.5

I like what Minny did with NAW at 2/9 and Shake at 2/10.

This solidifies my thought that FVV was being a baby when he took two weeks off for "family reasons" when raps went on a little losing streak.

He was in a few interviews telling the world the raptors stink.

Glad he is outta there. He thinks he is something special after the chip. good luck in Houston. At least you got paid i guess.

[Smith] Spurs drop to about $25.4M in remaining cap space. Yes...that's enough for an Austin Reaves offer sheet.

Crazy to think some of these guys who are signing max contracts could be close to $600 million made by time they have 15 years in league. You sign a couple max contracts like Halilburton could if he plays well off the one he just signed now and signs another one after that which could be $300+ million

I know, but the Vanvleet and Grant stands out as just straight bad off rip. Especially Grant when Dame is gone next year (or in a week). No veteran help for Dame yet.

The Cavs getting Niang and Strus with basically no cap space or real assets is pretty impressive

Probably overpaid on the contracts but not my money

They addressed a huge need without giving up basically anything to do it

without knowing much about him I think this is a great move for the Kangz

happy for the guy but does seem like a tad much for a 3rd guy, but maybe he should be 2nd and Ja relegated to 3rd banana? The team dynamic will be interesting this year. D Rose and Smart should help set the locker room tone while Ja is out and maybe [big maybe] he falls in line when he gets back from detention.
