Personally, I'm surprised you can spell "compassion"

The people of Scotland and N Ireland voted to remain. It was the Little Englanders who were responsible for leaving winning. I live in England but I'd just move elsewhere should Brexit actually happen - don't assume it will.

I am disappointed in so many right now. The greed and lack of heart for fellow man is troubling.

Years ago, a friend of mine lived in Australia as an exchange student. He sent me a 'I didn't climb Ayers Rock' shirt and I wish I still had it.

He loved it there. Lived in Warrnambool.

I always thought that the older you got, the more conservative you became. I'm surprised to feel the opposite. The older I get, the more liberal I become.

To add to this thread, I'm kinda shocked at how close the election seems to have become. I thought Trump was going to get blown out but he seems to have closed the gap while Clinton seems to have let some of her grip go. I know I wouldn't be placing any bets on this election. I can see a lot of crazy things happening between now and then. I also think you could see a large amount of people come out to vote that people might not have been expecting to.

I love the States too. Off there next month for a couple of weeks. Don't love it enough to want to live there though. A bit like London - good for a visit!

New voter registration by Republicans is outpacing the Democrats by a large margin. That we do know.

Not sure about this. I mean, if it's not mentioned in 'I've Been Everywhere,' how nice can it be?

My life is driven by my desire to take care of my daughter and my immediate family. Everything I do is for her and her future. I think if there was more of this in our country things would be a lot better off. That doesn't mean I don't have sympathy for the underprivileged.

1) My comment was a snide remark more so directed at the irony of the seemingly most heartless posters on this forum are "Christians"

2) If you're really shocked certain people don't have the want to help others, you can't have been paying attention.

I'm also a bit surprised/perplexed at those that automatically assume that those who oppose government initiated/mandated "help" for the needy/less fortunate (whatever euphemism for poor you choose) means that said person is opposed to ALL forms of help for the needy. These are not mutually exclusive ideas. It's possible to believe that the national government is extremely inefficient and does a poor job at actually delivering needed help (hello VA "health care"), and still want to help people through other initiatives.

Trump in a nutshell: Forced to tell the truth after pushing lies for years to steal airtime, blames someone else, steals more airtime.

The older I get the more independent I become.

It's easier to do when your only choices are a Turd Sandwich or a Giant Douche?
