Love them, some on here will hate on them, as in hard pass etc. They have been going up in price, especially the Updates. Some of the colors are limited in PSA form too. Fun chase

Bought my first draft chrome PSA 10, pretty good deal with 15% off.

Default Got a Regular Update

PSA 10 Lighthouse holder with 15% off it brought it to reasonable price for
me.

I like the 2012 Sparkle too.

Default Let’s go Mike Trout

While not as big as some, here are the Trout’s I’ve managed to reel in (plus some base BC, BC Draft and Finest RC’s):

Sorry if this has been covered ad nauseum earlier, but just wondering what you hard core Trout collectors think of the 2011 (?) eTopps RC.

I realize that isn’t likely to rate super high on the list of most sought after Trout cards, and I realize the eTopps cards themselves are polarizing. I just ask because I’ve always thought that is just one of the most visually striking baseball cards I’ve ever seen, period. I’ve been tempted to grab it, even though I only collect Cubs.

I have the Rizzo from that set (Padres at the time), but it just can’t visually touch the saturating red of that Trout card for me, even though I’m a total Rizzo homer.

I may be in the minority but I have 0 interest in it. I’m also no where near a hard core trout collector so my opinion doesn’t matter

From a resale value standpoint I don't think there is much interest. You'll see the same cards on eBay sit for a long time. That said, I agree that they are great looking cards and I plan to always have at least one in my PC.

I'm a fan of it. I get that some people don't like it though. I doubt that 999 physical copies are floating around which is appealing to me. I debate on whether to grade mine or keep it in the Topps case

Yeah, that’s a tough call.

With my Rizzo, the first one I got was ungraded and I’ve left it sealed. But then I later bought a BGS 9.5. But that’s obviously an easier approach with Rizzo bc even graded, the cost is so much less than for Trout.

Trying to think more generally, I’d personally not submit one for grading, primarily bc so many of them seem to get dinged hard for surface issues that are hard to detect with naked eye inspection. I’d prefer to let others take the grading risk and then cherry pick a quality example that’s already graded. Obviously, that’s a lot more expensive, but I just personally feel with really condition-sensitive cards that I’d rather pay a bit more to know exactly what I’m getting for the money I have to spend. Trying to “build” a graded gem from a raw one might get deceptively costly if you have to buy and submit several raw ones in the process.

But if you don’t care so much what grade it comes back, then I guess most of what I just said is irrelevant.

When you price a $200 card on eBay @ $450 it's going to sit. Doesn't matter which card it is. eTopps sells quite well when priced accurately.

That black Trout is amazing. I love the 2011 Blacks, but unfortunately for my focus, every Rizzo I’ve ever seen is obscenely off-center.

The Trout card is such a nice-looking card even in base, but that Black is really kinda mind-blowing. No small thing to land a 9.5.

You’re gonna need a bigger boat.

Well done and congrats.

Do you mean $200 for raw or graded? I think the gems are consistently in the 3s, sometimes higher. The gems online are priced a little high, but nothing too crazy. Due to the ridiculous offers a lot of people make I totally understand sellers adding a cushion if it's an OBO listing.

Did you guys see the $6800 bin/obo for a target red bgs 9.5 posted today? I think that’s insane but what do you think?
