^ Love that card! The poor man’s One and One haha. I bought one when I put that Hoops Tribute set together, and then I ended up pulling another one out of a pack like a couple weeks later.

If you currently own Zion, there's like zero reason to sell...unless you're a day trader or really pressed for cash. That would be the equivalent of selling TSLA stock over the past week.

Is there a chance he gets shut down this year? Sure. Do I personally think it's going to happen? Not really. Not unless there's another unforeseen setback in the healing process. The team's season is pretty much done, but they know there's no worse scenario than purposely sitting a healthy man that struggles with idle weight.

They were just about equally as bad under similar circumstances during Zion's rookie campaign, yet still brought him back late January with no prospects at a postseason. I see absolutely no reason why it would be different here if all systems are a-go.

He's still the only one from the draft class that set a plethora of rookie records and has an all-star appearance under his belt (which will most likely change this year with Ja beasting). When he comes back in a few weeks/months and starts bodying defenders, money will flow back in just as it did his rookie year.

IIRC his bass were floating around $35-50 raw circa the Merry Prizmas Walmart debacle while he was sidelined. Soon as he made his debut, it was an easy 2-3x off rip.

As with any asset in any class, out of sight, out of mind. When he's back in sight, people will realize that he's still pretty damn good at basketball. Is there a high degree of risk involved? Sure. But there's also a known commodity with an established level of dominance that most likely won't fade anytime soon barring some catastrophic red swan event. Like...he won't suddenly become a Stephen Hawking cripple or Big Country Reeves overnight at the ripe yung age of 21.

Embiid was never a hyper athletic marvel, and still pretty dope despite undergoing multiple full-body transplants.

Be patient and trust the process...r-r-right babe?

Oh, and totally agree on buying. Right now may not be the optimal period to be loading the boat. You'll probably still have a 3-4 week window (at minimum) to work with. But there's nothing wrong with dollar cost averaging, as you're most likely never going to perfectly time the tops or bottoms of any market unless you're speaking from the pulpit.

This is false - by reading thru the threads here for years, one thing I can say for certain is I’m the only Blowout member who doesn’t buy at bottom dollar and sell during the absolute peak. I’m a child among Warren Buffets.

Fake news. By all accounts he is so fat he can’t even walk anymore and definitely doesn’t have the mental fortitude to get himself into basketball shape.

Part of what makes this thread fun is the regular posters don't take themselves too seriously and know how to take a joke. The last few months have certainly be tough for us Zion collectors, but the hilarity of this thread is unmatched.

**Breaking News**

To prevent Zion from becoming a chubby-loser and promote an ideal of skinny-winners, the Pelicans have switched their culinary practices to the Tony Perkis diet

Poetry in motion. I predict a return in January, 2022 can’t come soon enough. Haven’t pulled the trigger on NBA league pass yet, waiting for the big eZ to get back before I do.

The Pelicans have poured resources, time and energy to protect Williamson's health. They have changed members of the staff and even changed some of their culinary practices in an attempt to support him. They have talked with him about protecting his body from extra hits.

AKA stop being a fat ass and asking for the 4 pattie burger with extra fries every time you go out to eat.

…So buying Zion cards right now a better or worse investment that Green Bay Packers stock?

I mean, my Optic Purple Stars auto 9 is down about $2k from purchase price, so I’m definitely not perfect. MJ didn’t win every game for chi town

He might actually be eating decently. Why assume so much?
It’s not exactly easy for certain body types to lose weight.
Given a proper trainer and schedule and eating dieting losing a pound or two a week can happen.
People are funny, vlad did it over a whole off season. This guy had a injury and it limited his ability to be mobile - hence the not being able to train as much.

People here talk so much #@#@#@#@ and have literally zero idea how this guy handles his day to day life. I would love to see all these "fat asses" do what Zion can do during a game.

Agreed. There needs to be a level of accountability here for Zion. Hopefully he can make the necessary changes.

People here aren’t athletes being paid millions a year to maintain their health and physique.

Such a dumb comparison

I’ll say this. I’m a nobody athlete who did orange theory four to five times a week. I got a double hernia that put me on the shelf for three months. No heaving lifting or even long distance walks. Knowing that, prior to the surgery, I adjusted my mindset around eating and made sure to plan out what I was gonna eat every week. Didn’t gain a single pound even though I wasn’t able to work out. I don’t know Zion’s injury but not being able to train as much isn’t an excuse to put on tons of pounds.
