They seem to be dropped in the order that they are loaded in into their backend system. Since they started red card only those products have always been first as far as I know.

Got lucky and hit the 5 select blaster manually. I was able to cart the select megabox. I think the seconds it took to change the quantity from 1 to 5, it was done-zo.

I just wanted a couple to open so I'm good.

Yeah, this was what happened to me. Got the 5 blasters, but it took an unusually long time to update quantity for the megas at which point I was probably screwed. Still happy to get something though. Not happy that manual users pretty much need a 40,000 box restock to be able to hit now.

I really want to try to get the app thing down because I saw my friend (who’s in a group of course) do it and he’s checked out in literally 2-3 seconds. Took me about 8-10 seconds on desktop I’d guess, to get thru the entire process

Before the pandemic you could always find lower-end retail basketball in stores like Prestige, Hoops, Donruss, Threads, & Status. For some reason Panini has done away with some of those. I am guessing some of these have been replaced by Select & Mosaic. I would give the hobby another 6 months and there will probably be some basketball available like there is for baseball, football, & hockey now. 12 months ago every single box was gone in an instant so it's definitely a bitter situation for pack rippers these days.

some of the monitors were a little slow this morning, seems like target was messing around, but all they do is make it harder for manual, none of their shenanigans impact the bots.

nobodies really talking about it but the biggest thing hurting manual users is that they are letting people add 5 authorized users to each red card account, and botters are just making up random names and jigging the address. so now a lot of them have 6/12 red card accounts they can use (or more).

With the bots having more bogus red card users and everyone and their brother joining a discord you have 100,000 people aiming for 40,000 boxes they would need 500,000 boxes to satisfy the need. Once again got to the cart and was gone if i can't score on 40,000 boxes no way i will with 20,000 or less

it wasn’t just before the monitors pinged, it’s before the product even shows as live on the site. by the time a manual user could hit add to cart 1/2 or more of the inventory was gone.

not uncommon at all for guys to have got 20+ boxes of each select this morning with multiple authorized user cards.

Hysterical to me how bad sites are at doing anything to help manual users. It just gets worse lol. Imagine thinking target is ramping up bot protection from last week, then they drop the hottest product and let it get checked out on backend. I’m sure it’s a war between target decision makers to either get product back in store or keep it online. Brutal.

there is really no silver bullet, as anything they implement there will be a workaround but it’s nuts they are allowing red cards that aren’t tied to a unique ss number.

You missed the point.

That was the silver bullet til it wasn’t. And it took what, 3-4 weeks for it to get completely destroyed.

People are going to complain about everything. The only way for bots to go away to a significant degree is to legislate them into a corner. Otherwise online is their world. I’m just glad they are moving product back into stores. Nothing is perfect but options are better.

i’m fairly certain they could treat all these authorized user cards as “children” of the “parent” card and only allow the parent card to check out trading cards if they wanted to. Or only allow one checkout for the “family.”
