I still can't think of what to change to without Mookie... If I still had Betts I would have to go simple with Ohtani Betts. |

Yall want power rankings? Then you'll get power rankings. But first we have to fact check myself on how poor my rankings ended last season. I posted rankings in June, see quoted post if you want to read the comments. Here were my rankings then alongside where each team finished:
1. Jac - 6 (-5) 2. JST - 2 (dead on) 3. Crossdog - 4 (-1) 4. Ray - 10 (-6) 5. Chitty - 9 (-4) 6. Poonchka - 1 (+5) 7. Seanbros - 7 (dead on) 8. Hollywood - 3 (+5) 9. Eck - 8 (-1) 10. Ksmith - 12 (-2) 11. Viking - 5 (+6) 12. Corner - 11 (-1) Interesting results here - I either pretty much nailed your final rank, or was way off by like 5 slots Ż\_(ツ)_/Ż fun to revisit and see how things panned out

2024 power rankings v1:
1. Hollywood - I legit hate putting myself #1. It's such bad juju. But I gotta be honest, I really like my team. I'm high on bounceback seasons from Correa and Rizzo, and even if they're only decent players, think my offense should safely be a top half group. On the pitching side, it's hard to have a better start than Burnes and Strider, and I feel like I did a better job building out my starters behind them of Ragans/Berrios/Darvish/Pepiot/Civale than I did last year, but I do wish I had a few more pieces in quantity still. But hopefully this is enough to finish in the money for the 2nd season in a row 2. Chitty - The offense feels a little youngster-dependent on Evan Carter, India, Bohm, and prospects that feel like they won't be up soon enough to hold quite yet in Spencer Jones and Delauter, but that can't distract from big core pieces of Julio, Xander, Will Smith, and Vladdy. The pitching staff got off to a nightmare start with negative point outings from Nola, Fried, and Bibee, giving Chitty an early loss and one of the lowest matchup #1 point totals in the league, but I think that group alongside Webb and Cease is going to be pretty good over the course of the season 3. JST - This could be a top 3 offense behind Soto, Harper, Bregman, Gunnar, Yelich, Harris, Realmuto, and I'll throw JD Martinez into that group too as someone I think will be a draft day steal. The pitching feels a little shallower than we're accustomed to from JST, Luis Castillo up top is one of the best pitchers out there, but then a lot of questions about how much will come out of the Skubal, Eflin, Ober, Mize group, and that will likely dictate how the season goes 4. Seanbros - Very fascinating offense that is built for youth and upside, but also have some strong legit talent on it already with Witt, Devers, and Robert sitting ahead of Elly, Chourio, and Yainer Diaz. The X-factor on this team might be what they ultimately get out of Justin Steele, Senga, Imanaga, and Bello on the pitching side of things, but the top end talent is there with Framber and Bieber leading the charge. I have this team a tier below those ahead on this list, but expect them to be right there in the mix 5. Ray - You don't need to look at the team or owner name in ESPN to know this is Ray's team - so many young unproven but high upside guys everywhere you look! I think the only veterans on this entire team are Trout, Christian Walker, Lindor, and Edman offensively, and Freddy Peralta, Joe Ryan, and some RPs on the pitching side. There's the highest upside of any team here, but also possibly one of the lowest floors, just based on how darn many young and unproven guys there are 6. Viking - I'm left wanting to see a lot more offensively after Shohei, JoRam, and Carroll. It's possible guys like Abrams, Gelof, Amed Rosario, and Henry Davis all click and have good years, but there's too much of that for my liking in a league where it doesn't feel too difficult to have a bunch of good hitters. The pitching has a huge range of outcomes. I love the top 3 of Bobby Miller, Yamamoto, and Bassit, but after that there's a ton of names but a ton of question marks - Singer, Pfaadt, Lugo, Hunter Greene, Puk, Jordan Hicks. The risk in the SPs is suppressing this rank for me, as I'm just someone who likes to see it out of players long enough before trusting them 7. Ksmith - Seeing a team with Sandy, and Woodruff clogging up the IL just feels like a team building keeper capital for 2025, but then that feels silly to say with a team having Machado, Arraez, Altuve, and some solid tier 2 contributors offensively, and Gilbert, Bryce Miller, and a solid stock hold of middle tier SPs on the mound, and perhaps a healthy Cole at some point this season too. I am a little unsure what to make of this team at this point to be honest, and the ranking as the year goes on is going to fluctuate based on what we get out of guys like Grayson Rodriguez, Hunter Brown, and Stroman, plus just simply what moves Ksmith makes as owner. But I do think this will be a team in the mix for the playoffs, I just don't know how much more beyond that yet 8. Poonchka - No huge names offensively outside of Freddie and Albies, but the offense is all around solid and filled with the "just good" types of guys that may not be headliners or top 5 guys at their position, but should be solid contributors that more than carry their own weight. I have some concerns about the pitching that is riding heavily on Sale, Maeda, Flaherty, Pivetta, and Lynn having good years, but there's some great pieces at the top here too with Kirby and Snell, but there is definite upside here and it wouldn't surprise me to see this team in the top 6 come midseason 9. Crossdog - Super fascinating team with some offensive talent concentrated in Acuna, Judge, Tatis, and Corey Seager, and then one great SP in Gallen followed by a crap town of fliers that are going to vary widely in what they give you. And then wow, that IL of Verlander, Scherzer, deGrom, and Edward Cabrera. If that IL can come back healthy midseason, this could be a scary postseason matchup. But I also have no idea if the healthy pitchers are going to churn out enough points to keep this squad in the running until then. This is a fascinating strategy for the year, and ultimately I doubt this team will end up in the middle of the pack, it'll either be top 4 or bottom 3. But for now, I'm just stuck throwing them roughly in the middle until we see how this starts to play out 10. Jac - I just don't feel great about an offense that fades quickly in my eyes after Semien, Goldy, and Randy, but Belli repeating his 2023, improvements from Moreno or Volpe, or Junior Caminero mashing from the start, could all change that quickly. The pitching has a big 2 headed monster in Wheeler and Gausman, but then the next tier is a little lacking in my taste in both proven talent and quantity. I do think at least a few guys between Javier, Musgrove, Morton, and Varland will have good seasons, I'm just not confident enough yet that enough guys will be good enough 11. Eck - There are too many depth guys starting offensive for my liking - Burger, Candelario, Reynolds, and Santander, namely. Though Langford could help offset that, and an early injury to Sean Murphy wasn't helpful. But I would have liked to see a bigger bat than Alonso or Bichette as the #1. The pitching is another group that could go any number of ways. I feel great about Pablo Lopez, same with Glasnow but you just don't know when Glasnow is going to miss time - feels like there's a hard cap of 120 innings on him. And after those two, there's just a lot riding on the likes of Triston McKenzie, King, Fedde, Littell, and Josiah Gray. I don't feel good enough about that group to have this squad any higher 12. Corner - I got excited seeing an offense of Mookie, Yordan, Trea, Kwan, and Yandy leading the charge, but I quickly get brought down to earth seeing pitchers that make me feel arguably even more like a 2025-focused team than Ksmith, with there just not being any healthy proven SPs, and a lot of guys like Keller, Kyle Harrison, Baz, McClanahan, Buehler, and Bradish that I don't feel good about collectively being close to enough this year, but definitely could turn into some very good keeper options for 2025. I think this is a legit contender-level offense, but the pitching just isn't close to that for me. But there are a lot of pieces that teams looking for a 2025 keeper could be interested in, so the trade factor is definitely worth keeping an eye on

I’m starting to get real sick of this shizz.
In the last 5 days, I lost LouBob for 2 months, Bieber for 2 years, Steele for at least 6 weeks, and Framber was scratched from todays start with elbow soreness, and we all know what that means. We’re 10 games into the season.. |

Welcome to modern era pitching, get used to it!
Signed, the guy soon to be down Strider for the season in the best chance I've been set up at for a legit playoff run in the history of this league Quote:

I’m looking to move an OF or 2. Adolis and Langford off limits but Reynolds/Santander/Duran/Marsh are all on the block
I just need some more roster flexibility; will trade for basically anything but more OFs
