Pels v Jazz last night.

Zion did not work out pre-game. He arrived at the bench about 30 seconds before tip off. Sat in the second row of the bench.

Did not join the team on the bench for the second half.

I find it odd to travel with the team, but not be heavily involved during the game. Contrast with Dillon Brooks (I know, comparing anyone as good as Zion to someone as scrubby as Brooks is sacrilege) sitting out injured at the Grizz v Jazz on Monday - Brooks was going crazy all game. Hyping the team. Yelling at the crowd, etc.

Zion is checked out. Hopefully it is just the Pels and not something more endemic to Z himself.

Yeah, if I could land six figures for this card, it’s gone. Buy some safer stuff or pay off debt. I’d love to have people over to my house and then tell them that a trading card paid for it.

Can that one Shyne guy buy it and send it to Panini as damaged to have it rebuilt into a PSA 10?

Lol. That guy is uh, interesting. I like how he gets irritated with the trolls in his chat and actively engages with them. Recently he had an IG story up for all of a couple minutes dropping the F-bomb (the 2-syllable variety) in what seemed to be some crappy rap lyric. Either he meant to post that to a non-card page or a Goldin rep reached out and told Pitbull to chill out. Funny stuff.

The Grizz game you referenced was a close, interesting game - of course the bench is hyped lol. I take it you didn't watch the game the Friday night game where Zion was on the bench with his team, and was hyping them up as they beat the Jazz? Or did that not count? Weirdo lol

I'm assuming that's what's gonna happen at this point.

Zion never got out of his seat to get involved in huddles or anything. From the opening tip. Dillion Brooks was acting like...welp... Dillon Brooks the whole time. Even talked some trash to fans before the game started.

No, I didn't watch the game on Friday. I subscribe to YouTubeTV and even with NBA league pass, I cannot watch jazz games on TV. I can only watch in person... Or by going to a restaurant or sports bar.

You people on Blowout are really something else. Any comment with a slight bit of honest pessimism and you go the ad hominem route. Really a sight to be behold.

Zion looked dead last night. Like a corpse. But I guess that is what we are looking for!

Peak value? Is it peak when he's not been playing and he's out of shape? Would it be better not to hold to he comes back to see if it goes up in value? I know some have said it's a million dollar card but is it? Or is it more like 500-600K?

I'd gladly buy it for six figures and then sell for seven figures.

His NT Emerald RPA went for $350K last year, I'm sure you could get $1M for this one.

Comparing a sale from last year to now doesn't make the most sense given his injury, the market softening a bit, and other factors.

I think Zion may have a very bright future but yeah, last year was last year. He's gotta prove he can stay healthy.

Pelicans’ Zion Williamson experienced a slight delay in his rehab due to soreness in his injured right foot. Team is optimistic it is not serious but will dial back his ramp up in approximately a week.

Can't say I'm surprised. I had posts earlier this year comparing his recovery time to KD and Ben Simmons who both missed a full season due to a fifth metatarsal fracture. A lot of people were optimistic that he'll be back this month and I was never comfortable about that.

He could still come back, but honestly I want to to think long term with this guy. He's not in optimal shape and rushing a big man with foot injury is a kiss of death. Let him heal fully.

If we’ve learned anything after all this, it’s that you do not trust anything the Pelicans say with regards to his health. Persistent soreness is not normal, and suggests poor healing. We don’t know when the surgery was, but normal recovery time is 2-3 months. At best, he’s already at the very end of that window.

Really have 0 faith that the Pelicans handle this the right way for Zion.

I'll say this until I'm blue in the face: Zion needs to get the hell out of New Orleans. I heard the Hornets could use a big.
