They are rounding to the nearest 1/100 of a cent. Even if you could game it, you'd be getting an extra penny every 100 transactions.

Isn't it you either make an extra cent or lose one depending on if the number in the hundreds place is greater then five?

for example my last two sales
.2139 rounded down to 0.21 cents in credit
.3193 rounded up to 0.32 cents in credit

If I sell 50,000 items in a year I'm sure it will average out. But that could be a real easy way to save $50 if there is a way to price things knowing they'll round up.

The thing is, there's no actual rounding going on. The fee is 5%, which has one significant digit. The prices are multiplied by whole pennies and carried out to 4 significant digits past the decimal.

So, an item marked 10 cents will net you 0.0095 dollars, while an item marked 11 cents will net you .1045 dollars. The difference is 0.95 cents, or 5% less than 1 cent.

It would be theoretically possible to achieve some sort of rounding victory by running a sale and having a certain percentage off. But even in that instance, COMC is going to be taking 0.5% to 9% of revenue away from you during the sale. So, if you want to save fractions of a penny, you wouldn't run the sale in the first place.

It might be possible to save as much as 49/100 of a cent per day in Enhanced Security Fees (or whatever they're called) if the total of all of your $50 items ends in a $494.99 - so, $1,494.99 or $2,494.99, etc. But it wouldn't scale with the number of items you have, and the maximum savings would be about $1.79 per year. Err, I mean $1.7885.

On COMC we can download the sales and purchases but is there a way to download inventory into excel? Also can they make monthly statements for us showing fees and our credit balance? Thanks

I use to use the bulk editor to load my inventory then copy to excel.

I don't sell a ton at a time, but in 2019 I've sold 2 cards amazon, 0 ebay. COMC's new add shipping and 20% on top of my price will basically kill me selling anything on either forum since I'm mainly lowend.

I have sold zero cards this year. I know that I don't have the volume that a lot of you do, but I went through my sales log, and the longest drought I could find over the past 3 years was 4 days.

I decided to try a sale and see how it goes. I typically never ran them unless it was one of the free promos. If I don't see a drastic improvement, what I have packaged up to be sent is going to stay with me.

Many of my cards fall in that range of ones that have practically doubled in price on eBay/Amazon. So fewer sales outside of COMC, and now people actually have incentive to pull their spending balance from COMC. Not liking the new setup, I was willing to give it a shot, but it feels like a ghost town.

None sold since 12/31/18. Small port but nice cards. Lower prices again Too small of a port to run a sale.

Those with little/no sales - did you make any adjustments to your port on January 1st?

I have lowered prices on several items after the year-end sale wrapped up. Not a ton of them, but stuff that might have dropped since the last time I went through pricing.

I downloaded the bulk pricing thing, I'll probably do a larger review tonight. Like I said, my volume is lower anyway, at best it's probably 1-2 a day without a sale running, but it feels very quiet right now.

That's not true with the $1 to run it as long as 11 days now. They just take 1% of the original price so don't go running some kind of crazy sale at 80%-90% off, keep the percentage low and your prices in line with where they usually are.

I've had a constant sale since Jan 1st and I like the backend pricing of how sales work now. It never made sense to me before to run sales that cost at minimum, $90 to run all month. Paying for it OUT OF the card sale being made is one of the things they got right with the recent changes.

My sales have surprisingly been very consistent. I have nothing to base it on when comparing to eBay/Amazon since I never sold there until I was forced to....but I haven't moved a card there after the new year.

I spent a long time before the first of the year lowering my prices on my cards subject to storage fees, and probably longer since the first of the year lowering prices on my low-end items. So far in 2019 I've sold 600+ cards at an average of a bit more than $1 per card.

LOL, thank you!

I love having a place to send $1-10 stuff, it's definitely freed up my time to not have to list, pack and ship them. I hope this is just a minor bump in the road for me.

Also a suggestion could you give us like 50 points so we can check sales history a month or something? For the past couple of weeks I have been trying to get history points but have been failing miserably. If I had points I could buy some cards...or at least price some cards better. Cmon....part of me was debating about loading credit just to get some points. The few times I do get to earn points they all basically expire before I can use them all.

The recent changes were supposed to drive prices down, but I’ve never had a harder time finding things to buy for flips

Are people washing their legacy credit and gobbling up all the deals?

With all the negativity and uncertainty I would expect ports being dumped, big sales etc.... I’m not seeing it

I think a lot of people are playing the wait and see game. I feel that once comc releases new features the value of inventory will go up.

There’s fair amount being processed, which is creating deals for the recently added hawks and a few sellers have been clearing inventory via sales. Otherwise prices are largely stagnant, which is rough after they were significantly lower twice in the past two months. I’d just keep watching recently added and sales for the rest of the month until storage fees start emptying accounts.

I think it is the 5% fee. People aren't as willing to dump items anymore because now there is a cost associated with that.

It seems slow, but when i look at sales compared to last year, it's about the same every month. These winter months just always suck, unless you like skiing or snowmobiling, which I don't.

Seems like it. I haven't touched many prices other than lowering most of my .75 to .39.

Spending the legacy credit makes more sense to me than cashing it out, or waiting an entire year.

I think a lot of sellers are hesitant and just waiting to see how this shakes out. I know I'm hoping these new fees drive some of the bottom feeders away, and I know they won't say it, but COMC most likely feels the same.
