You do realize that in most places in the country over the last 11 months if you were willing to go out at 7 am to 5 pm 5 days a week you would have probably made over $200,000 card hunting. Targets nationwide without limits there were probably single weeks that a person could make over $15,000 from Targets alone. The job I used to work after taxes I took home less than $40,000 a year. The reasons I didn't go out this much at first covid, then when I was getting up and out early it was killing me. Early in the mornings is terrible for me. I've been a night person for 15+ years so to all of a sudden go from waking up some days as late as 3 pm to getting up at 7 am is miserable. It's irrelevant now because that opportunity is over for most with Targets switching over. It seems within the next month or two many Walmarts nationwide will be down to only 1 per sku also. Maybe even less than that. That coupled with the fact Walmart is getting so much less product this year than in 2020. So the big opportunity over the last year will be down to where, unless its something like the 2 products we have now or Optic basketball, it could be tough to justify the time and effort for many of the weeks.

I've read many people enjoy the hunt. I hate it. I used to be able to walk in and out less than 5 minutes at the few local Walmarts and Targets either before or after work and get the retail I wanted. Yes I know most wasn't worth much then but at least I got to open product and still enjoyed collecting at that point. But anyone on this forum that doesn't see why people have been card hunting the last 11 months and telling you to check your priorities in life I envy you. Because you must love some combination of your life, job, money you have, and your standing in life.

Man....that is not funny. But I dont think this friday thing is going to last. How does the virtual line work ? So you can pretty much get in the line and not physically be there? The target employee told us there was a glitch in the system .so that's why the security texted us one by one.

I mean, if you had no competition I could see you making $200k over the past year buying retail. But with all of the people out hunting too it’s hard to see there being enough product to go around.

It was probably easily done with a bot.

Sure, but he was specifically talking about hitting stores in person Monday through Friday to make that $200k.

Evening run to Target so wasnt expecting anything but got lucky and scored 2 Select football cellos, a humble helping of Prizm soccer cellos and a smidgeon of Donyell Russell b ball fatties.

They only had 2 Select but had maybe 12 Prizm soccer and an absolute boatload of Donruss. At least 40 cellos

First time ever seeing anything so late.

Just had a conversation with my rep and a separate one with a Target employee about the “$19.99” component of the sign stating all cards $19.99 and above will be sold Friday at 8am.

Rep essentially says not only will she hold all $19.99 and above back, but she has a list of products under $19.99 that she also holds back, i.e., hangers, cellos etc of desirable product.

Talked to the target employee and he told me all the “friday” stuff allegedly comes in separate boxes now that don’t get opened until Thursday night.

I’m sure that’s not consistent store to store but disappointing I can’t even land cello packs without camping friday morning.

Damn thats completely counter to what I just experienced.

Guessing each Target will be on their own terms, as usual

Yeah i think we saw even with the 8am policy it took 3-4 weeks for some stores to fall in line.

This rep is pretty by the book, and both her and the target employee told me in separate conversations that excell provides a list of skus to be held back for friday. Will be interesting to see if this catches on elsewhere over the next month.

All she put out was a ton of opening day blasters, a few s1 tins and a few heritage packs.

Been like that since day 1 at my target. Even $1.99 Donruss basketball retail packs are kept behind for Friday as well as stuff like Series 1 tins. Really nothing sports gets put out other than like series one fat packs or the like.

From spending the weekend in a decent-sized (for Iowa) town in the middle of Iowa a little over a week ago, I can tell you even they have limits and plenty of chasers...including some sniveling gamerbros who freaked out because they missed a WM restock by 30 minutes. One said to me, "Pretty much everything is gone!" as I'm standing there looking at a ton of S1 tins and fat packs, Heritage hangers and megas and a little Donruss baseball. I showed him the two S1 tins I was holding and said, "Not the good stuff!" I don't think he got the joke...
