Already has a ring and a batting title. He could sit out all of 2021 and I’d still be a buyer of his stuff.

Odds are 1/2 based on popularity 1/2 based on fact. Same reason the dodgers, cubs and yankees are usually world series favorites. He will be just fine. Only worries about betts and maybe a 40-40 acuna but I feel that’s unlikely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Early, I'd say.
https://www.blowoutforums.com/showpo...postcount=2178 I still remember walking back to the Metro after a Nats game and seeing a notification on my phone about Soto being called up. I didn't know much about him at the time, and that was 2018. Robles was the stud then, but I believe he may have been injured at the time. I only saw Robles once in the minors, July 4th, 2017 in A ball. I think he had 2 doubles, 3 or 4 hits, and looked ready for the next level. Never did see Soto before his call up in 2018.

For a brief period of time in 2018 I was tracking BGS 9.5 sales of BCA for the top 100 prospects. In March, Acuna was #1, Ohtani #2, Vlad #3, ZEloy #4, Robles #5. Acuna'a BCA was $500, increasing to $800+ in May. Robles was $160, declining to $130 in May. Juan Soto was #56, with a $135 price tag in March, and $400 in May by time he had made it clear the minors were not for him. Guys priced similarly to or more than Soto in March? Acuna, Vlad, Eloy, Robles, Torres, Senzel, Bichette, Tatis, Tucker, Rodgers, Lewis, Kingery, Adell, Hiura, Andujar, Ramos, |

Well please don't leave us waiting too long
That is awesome and even more impressive that you have been able to resist selling them for so long |

But the more I read, the more I think Soto is grossly undervalued. With apologies to Nats fans, I think being in D.C. and not having the "sexy" speed of Acuna allows Soto to fly under the radar. The articles that I've read this offseason are making unreal comps for him and I'm not just talking about average and/or power. They're examining Soto's knowledge of the strike zone and patience. How he rarely swings at pitches outside of the zone and how his average against pitches inside of the zone is ludicrous. The only comp they came up with was Ted Williams. Ted Williams. For you guys that aren't well versed in the olden days, go look at Williams' baseball reference page. We're talking about a guy who put up 1.000+ OPS seasons, like, 18 and 19 years into his career. His numbers are beyond video game. And he lost three full seasons (in his prime) to military service. That's the only player they could come up with that's done what Soto has done at such a young age. As far as Vegas, you have to remember, Vegas isn't putting up the odds that they think an outcome will occur. They're putting up the odds that they think will draw even money on both sides of the wager. Vegas isn't looking to take a stance, they're looking to collect that dime. Arthur |

I was early to Soto and sold my big cards after his first boom. I'm loading up again. I think this is the last time we'll see a lot of these prices on his key cards.

I know Acuna just about as well as anyone and to be very honest I don't think he will be able to match Soto's success at the plate in the years to come. A lot of Acuna's appeal is built on the back of 40-40 talk. Just my opinion but I believe those days are behind him. Now, he'll have years where he hits 40 HRs and strikes out a bunch. But with as much caution as the organization takes with him from a health standpoint, and how prone he has been to injuries whether its the wrist, back, ankle, shin etc. I don't see 40-40 in the future. I have a good investment in both. But if Soto can be at least average in the OF, he's the safer card to own in my mind. There are also far fewer Soto rookie cards. Lower supply will always drive up demand. Curious to hear what others think... Last edited by NCWolf; 12-17-2020 at 10:02 AM. Reason: typo |

I started collecting Soto because of the Harper signing with the Phils, in March 2019 after a 7 year hiatus from collecting. I focused on US300,HMT55 and any Soto parallel with the a "RC" logo, nothing high end unfortunately but have over 300 graded 10 RC's, he is so clutch great eye at the plate and from members who have met him a great all around person!, looking forward to his 2021 season at age 22 years old!!

I’ll be honest, I’m surprised that BGS 9 Independence Day Card is still on eBay. In my opinion, one of His top 2 or 3 cards to acquire. Of course I am biased because I have one
