Good point. Wasn't meant to come off as sour grapes, but more an acknowledgment that grading is tough and I never want to be one of those posters where it looks like a) everything I submit comes back a 10, or b) every card I bought was right before a big spike on prices, or c) I always sell a card right before prices plummet, or d) every box I open has a hit in it, or e) every prospect I invest in turns out to be a star, or f) you get the point . . .

One of the drawbacks of online forums or social media is that we're seeing self-selected\curated posts typically highlighting successes (understandably) so it looks like everyone else is always succeeding. I"ve made a ton of mistakes in this hobby and just try and acknowledge that as best I can.

The post does sound like sour grapes, so I'll change my wording going forward. I was very happy with these particular card results.

I hope you didnt take offense to what I said as it wasnt at all meant to be a negative comment.

It was a more of a woah if those ones didnt make you jump for joy, you must have taken a bath on everything else.

Absolutely - no offense was taken at all. I actually just used your comment as a platform to get this thought off my chest

I don't want to get too deep here, but I've started using Instagram a lot recently, and while I've enjoyed the platform and the community, it has created an interesting response within myself of I guess maybe envy, or sometimes self-questioning as that is one platform where you really are consistently bombarded with just the "hits" or successes of others (It's how the platform is really designed frankly). So I've decided to share more of my failures that maybe will help others see that it's not all rainbows and unicorns and we're all human and make mistakes and trying to do better.

OK. Enough mushy stuff. Back to cards!

Nice!

I'd be interested to see your other results if you don't mind sharing. Sorry it didn't go as good as expected.

Your not alone I definitely had a humbling return of my 15 card submission w/ a couple nice 10’s like yourself. Gems don’t come around so easy with paper parallels !!

Been a month since I listed the camo BGS 9.5. I must be asking too much. What's a fair price for it? Had it listed for just under $2500 with offers. Only had one offer of $1100 a month ago. Seen a raw go for $620 and a PSA 8 for $725. I was thinking $1500-1600. Am I way off?

Didn’t you just buy it for $1300 about a month ago?

Maybe if you list it for a solid $1500 or $1600 you’ll get someone to bite. That makes the listing absolute, opposed to allowing room for people to speculate what might be a good offer or assume you want more than they’re willing to offer. (For instance, at $2500, most people might think you want at least $2000 and thus won’t bother making an offer.)

Also, Vlad’s market is a little down at the moment. I just got a black PSA 9 for $530, which wouldn’t have happened a month or two ago. So it might not be the best time to sell him.

That said, I’d say set it at your actual sale price and don’t bother with offers.

Love these US1’s !! Smart buys in PSA 10 !!..I own a bunch of raw but hesitant to send in for grading now. I’m sure 80-90% would be 9’s or less

What happened to your beautiful staging??

I have no such stash. I merely have a bunch of lowly raws and PSA 9’s that don’t hold a candle to this gem.

I’d share my stash of Kevin Maitan BC 1st color, but I’m not sure you could handle that level of failure

Nice! I'm sitting on 3 PSA 10's. Got them all last year for about $300/ea.

I’m still kicking myself—back then, I was quite content buying them raw at $225. But paying $325 for a PSA 10? That was just too much...........

Here are the latest additions to my PC. The BGS were from my latest submission. The others were purchased graded.

This is a mean group of cards.

That camo isn’t the one that sold on ebay about a month ago, is it? (#4/25?)

Just wanted to give a heads up...

This listed card by Probstein was returned to them by me:
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/383606709718

I returned the card because I noticed when I had the card in hand that there was clearly black sharpie on the top edge. I did not notice this in the original listing. There is also no mention of this in the current listing so I figured I’d post here as a heads up.

On another note, any idea how long it takes for someone to pay back the refund? Probstein marked my case as “refunded” and relisted the card but I have not received the funds?
