More love for Jesus, nice.

I pulled this Eury Perez case hit from a hobby box of heritage minors a couple weeks ago. He’s getting big love, and this is the lowest licensed parallel of his out there, other than the red 1/1 of this card.

02/18

It’s a bummer that he doesn’t have a 1st Bowman yet, but at this point, I’m kind of hoping he takes the Zac Gallen path and never had a 1st Bowman and just jumps into a Topps RC.

There’s about a 112% chance he’s in 2023 Bowman.

You know who else is getting big love - and for good reason? Andrew Painter. I sold off several pieces I had but kept a few others. But his pricing has been strong the past few weeks.

HECK YEAH. Awesome.

Did you pull the 1/1 or hunt it down?

More like, it captivated me with its beauty when I saw it on ebay.

A couple years back, I put together the Soto ‘18 Triple Threads auto rainbow. It was my biggest accomplishment ever in the hobby, so I now have a soft spot for the Ruby Red 1/1.

Once I had the Greene in hand, I realized how easy it would be to finish off the rainbow, since not too many people are chasing Threads. Turns out this is a great set for building a rainbow—tons of color!

Congrats--very impressive colors indeed. Will you keep it or part with it eventually? Do you still have the Soto?

Great stuff, man. That 1/1 is such a visually appealing card.

Got this back today. Pulled it two years ago and is what got me back into cards. Really happy with the 9 grade although was hoping for a 10 auto.

Thanks, guys! Rainbows are fun to make. The Bowman Chrome rainbows I’ve put together are probably prettier overall (they’re just so shiny!), but a Ruby Red 1/1 rookie card is hard to beat.

For me, collecting is about the journey more so than the destination. Which is basically my way of saying that I love to acquire and then eventually sell. (Which is different than flipping. There’s no emotion or sense of accomplishment in that. At least, this is what I tell myself…)

I sold the Soto rainbow. It was just too much money for me to leave in pieces of cardboard that some jock scribbled his name on. And I’ll probably eventually sell the Greene rainbow, assuming he becomes a perennial Cy Young candidate. But I’m in no hurry to let it go.

You opened 2005 Bowman Sterling just two years ago?? That’s awesome. Even more, I love that pull… I need a proper Verlander rookie again. I think he’s going to pan out.

That successful box cost me alot of money! Fun to break old boxes...also pulled a Jay Bruce black and a McCutchen auto in same box.

A Jay Bruce black! My first major flip came buying one of those for about $200 or so, and selling for north of $500. Maybe even $600. It was so long ago, the details are a little fuzzy.

Default PITCHERS: Official Thread of the Hobby’s Outcast Position

If there was ever a player/ card combo that I was doomed to lose money on it was Jeremy Jeffress. 100mph/ No chrome cards that year(06),only Sterling. Black refractor and I mean a big ol stack of em
