So what is your plan with these?

I always wonder what people who collect a certain player do when they become big/huge price jumps.

What I am trying to say is that I would put much more credence in the final price if there were multiple bids close behind the final winning bid that would act as a backstop and support to the final price. With such a huge gap down to the third highest bidder, I would be very cautious in using this price as a comp if I were a buyer.

Please note that I am not making any accusations of shilling or nefarious bidding, but with only two bidders pushing the price so far beyond recent comps and the other bidders, the possibility of buyers remorse, a non-paying bidder or a return seems high, and if the card were to be re-listed/re-auctioned, the price might not come anywhere close to this result.

I was the 1551 bid, the high bidder with 0 seconds left too.

I discovered Soto the day he was called up to the majors via fantasy baseball. Added him to my team that day and he's been on my team since.

At that point, I hadn't collected cards since the late '00s. Now I have hundreds of Sotos, Acunas, and a bunch of other stuff, along with a fair bit of unopened 2018 retail Update...

But I will credit Soto for making me want to get back in. For one, I've never seen such a natural hitter in my lifetime. Secondly, I find just about everything he does and says to be awesome and hilarious. The Shuffle, the "my mom is my girlfriend" comment, the WS bat drop, etc., etc.

It's too bad I didn't go harder at Soto than I did, with most of my stuff being US300. I went higher end on Acuna sadly. Oh well, happy and thankful to have what I got at the low buy-in...

Anyway, I was clearing off my desk today, and here's the Soto stuff that caught my eye.

Great looking set. I’ve started collecting these as well. Not sure if they will pick up by others, but I’m trying to get them cheap while I can.

He’s Horrible!!! I’m in the Christmas spirit. I’ll take all your Soto’s of your hand for $10. Saving you room in your home for more noteworthy cards.

Well, this is a shadow of the interesting Juan cards I used to have but it's what's left besides a healthy stash of base rookies.

I recently went past pajamas and straight to undies. I've been incorporating the undies into my searches lately and they have a lot of cards that I like. Helps that the hobby thinks they're all garbage. I collect what I like, even if it's considered poop by everyone else.
