No doubt. His weight will forever be a dark cloud over his career. Until it is isn’t (if he ever gets that far with it).

I get that it’s not looking great, but he will heal and he will be back. That’s all I was reminding people of. Remains to be seen if it sticks

Weird not to include your most exciting player for this kind of promotion, imo.

Gives me more hope that all this radio silence isn’t just related to Zion’s health/injury concerns.

Yikes, that isn't good at all.

Something to this for sure.

Zion is not staying in NO. Too much smoke not to believe it.

He’s as good as gone

The writings on wall, apparently now even the Pelicans are passive-aggressively stating just as much with that email promo

Normally I don’t like to buy into conspiracy theories but this is a big deal. Zion is supposed to be their franchise cornerstone, so for them to completely exclude him in this email is really telling.

Please get Zion to the Lakers. We'll get rid of LeBron and AD for him.

Definitely two sides to everything but it’s a little bit of all of it honestly.

Regardless, the seeds been planted and I think it gains momentum and swings towards an eventual trade. I dont think he plays the rest of the year either.

Hope I’m wrong

It's going to be amazing when Z switches things up and joins a big market team. Giant green candle on all of his stuff, people will FOMO back in at supersonic speeds.

Zion to the Lakers, he'll lead AD and LeBron to the championship and then LeBron can proclaim himself the greatest Lakers player of all time.

Dinwiddie, Bertans, THJ and 50 million Dogecoin from Cubes for big boi. Luka tossing lobs to Zion would be electric.

Lol ok now that i've woken up from my fantasy i do think there is something to him forcing his way out of Naw leans. They should still be able to get a pretty big haul for him i would imagine. But where would he go? OKC's got enough future draft picks for 5 teams, they could splurge. Or will NO want known players instead?

My respect for Zion goes down if this is his doing. Two sides to every argument but you were the #1 pick for a franchise. Yes, they are going to suck. Tough it out.

I think it’s possible the Knicks will make a play for Zion or Mitchell in the next few years. Nothing to substantiate this, just wistful thinking and rumors that may have a tiny element of truth. I’d love to see what both do in a bigger market.

I think there's definite credence to the strong friction between Zion/his crew and NO's management. This stems all the way back to his rookie year and the way they coddled and throttled his minutes extensively when he returned to the lineup. You could tell he was pissed with Gentry and the med staff opening night after he had that historic second half stretch and they yanked him out just as he reeled off like 16 straight points to tie the game.

Then they hired Ron Jeremy whom the entire team hated and was a one-and-done.

I don't think the Pels are going to offer him the max extension and I do think he'll be in a different uniform as soon as he's eligible.

I also think he may be intentionally holding out his return this season to shun the front office. He's already got one (fractured) foot out the door.

Based on Griffin's last presser, he should be undergoing imaging tests no later than the middle of this week, but I'm not holding my breath that we'll ever get an update on that.

Have to wonder about this organization and their inability to keep their top drafted talent in-place and happy. This predates AD and Zion all the way back to CP3.

You can tell from last year that ZION was the man on the team but BI didn't want to give it up. Coaches weren't trying to make ZION the go to guy as well. You can tell by his body language he was fed up. Reminds me a lot of when Kobe came into the league with Eddie Jones at the helm. But the thing with the lakers situation is they committed to the young guy. Pelicans not giving this team to the young guy thats why he wants out.

If he goes to the Lakers he reinjures himself within the first month

AD did the same thing so, to me, it says way more about NO than it does AD or Zion.

Stafford toughed it out in DET for 13 years on good behavior and then won the SB the year he left. Sometimes it's not worth trying to prop up an unstable franchise.

How is NO unstable? AD was a bitch who wanted out to LA with Bron and acted like a child to make it happen. He quit on the team. How is a small market franchise in the NBA supposed to win when the superstars who are supposed to lead them there won’t do what is being asked of them?

Zion and his camp didn’t want to be in NO. They were mad the Pelicans played it cautious in his recovery during his rookie season. Doesn’t seem like they’ve ever gotten over that. But hey, looks like the Pelicans were right to be cautious given what has happened with his current recovery.

Ninja pointed out that CP3 also wanted out of NO after sticking it out 6 years. Maybe it's NO. Maybe it's the realities of small market teams. Which consensus #1 pick has stayed with their small market team recently?

AD - 7 seasons 466 games
Zion - 3 seasons 85 games

AD at least put in his time and earned the right to control his future. Zion hasn’t don’t much of anything. If i recall, AD was open about wanting out but didn’t the organization refuse to play him after he came out wanting to leave?
