Even with Betts having such a huge season, does Boston want to find out if it's not due to him having protection in the batting order, something that was lacking last season?
FFS, are you actually trying to say Betts season is due to JD? You used to bring up decent points, but now you're just a virus infecting threads with JD banter that has nothing to do with the topic. Get bent.

ESPN saying the MVP race is likely between JD and Mookie-----I know it's ESPN, but interesting.

They likely aren’t invested in Mike Trout rookie cards.

Now would be the time to buy. Certainly a nice opportunity.

Trout is not going to win it this year. Most likely will finish 3rd behind Ramirez and Betts, or vice versa.

Mike Trout …. out of sight, out of mind until who knows when, and even when the return comes, he'll walk two times a game. Yes, his OBP is fantastic but big deal …. Mike Trout will not score even if the BB allows him to steal second. He has to do that because the likelihood of him being driven in on that team is seemingly futile.

Mike Trout, the absolute very best player in the game today and arguably the greatest in the past 50 years is not going to win the MVP award this year.

DH/OF only because he has issues crashing into walls. Trout has a history of tearing up his hand/fingers/wrist & the Angels decided that 16 games back was worth the risk of having their most invested player attempt a steal. How did that work out. Martinez this season does have a horrific Errors (0) to Assist (3) ratio! What is Betts ratio. Does Lindor & Ramirez have a new invested safety policy protecting them from base runners breaking up potential assists? Catchers have the blocking the plate / crushing the catcher rule.
Not trying to be sarcastic but I have no idea what any of this is supposed to mean.

Anything can happen. Trout could come back and hit .425 the rest of the season and Betts could go into a huge slump or miss more games to injury. It's not out of the realm of possibility. But as of right now, Betts is the leader in the clubhouse. Barring those situations I just listed, it's his MVP to lose.

WTF are you on about? Betts leads off, and Martinez bats 3rd or 4th. Protection in the lineup doesn't come from players hitting 3 spots later.

It's been a roller coaster race. Two weeks ago, Trout was 1 WAR clear of everyone; and it was his to lose. That said, I agree w/ you that if the vote were today, it's Mookie's. And I would also suggest that as the season goes on, Mookie gets a greater advantage because he'll be on a 110 win team which goes a long way in breaking ties or figuring out who should win a close race.

The chatter in September will be less and less about the Angels and more and more about the Sox (not that it isn't already, but even moreso). Trout has a bit of a hill to climb when he comes back. That's even if he comes back on time, and healthy.

Did he High-5 Martinez when he got back to the dugout for helping him do it?

Probstein has a BGS 9.5 Real One at $765 right now. Bidding looks legit, but seems off right?

Have been watching that one. It is 3 x 9.5 w/10 so that will give a premium. But i'm out once it shot over $700

After falling behind 0-2 in the count this season, Mookie has 19 strikeouts and 22 hits. Not a bad ratio.

Do you know what he's batting when the Sox play on Tuesdays that fall on an odd numbered day, game time temp is over 73, and the game start time is 7pm Central or later?

April 17th; start time 9pm CT - Temp was 61 degrees so no good. (Anaheim)
June 19th, start time 7pm CT - Temp was 67 degrees so no good (Minnesota)

These are the only two times the Red Sox have played on Tuesday, during odd numbered days, where the start time was 7pm Central or later. And neither qualify because of the temperature.

So to answer your question; N/A. Not sure what this has to do with how poorly Mookie gets started in games since the break.

Seems almost as meaningful as looking at a 22 at-bat sample, no?

You believe looking at no sample is as meaningful as looking at a 22 AB sample?

Very good.
