I thought Dana said Leon Edwards was next if he beats Masvidal. If that’s the case I’d like to see v. Burns for the #1 Contender spot. Maybe even be a standby if someone drops out of the Leon/Jorge fight. Crazy thing is, as the opponent has gotten better the more dominant he looks.

Yeah Leon deserves his shot.

Khamzat needs at least 1 fight vs a highly ranked fighter before he gets a shot at the belt

I don’t hate Dana White nearly as much as the MMA media does but him pushing for a fight against Nate Diaz makes no sense. He’d get ragdolled like he did against MacDonald, Dos Anjos, Henderson, and Stun Gun.

Diaz/Chimaev would be 1 of the few non-title fights that would sell a PPV. Plus I could see Nate being one of the few ‘name’ fighters willing to fight Khamzat right now. Either way I think any top 5-6 fighter willing to fight him right now would earn a title shot with a win.

Did he really? I must've missed that. That's interesting, Dana's sounded luke warm on Leon every time I've heard him talk about him.

Yeah I was thinking Luque but Burns would be good too. I think either one makes sense for the #1 contenders spot for Chimaev.

I could see the champ getting what he wants though if he asks for it. Usman seems like a champ who wants to do big things. That fight would be insane anticipation leading up to the fight especially if Usman rips a mean promo.

And the size discrepancy would be huge!!! Chimaev is basically a Middleweight who kills himself to make Welterweight and Nate is a blown up Lightweight who could still fight in that weight class if he trained as hard as he used to.

I love em but would anyone really like to have employees like the Diaz brothers lol. They’re a literal stereotype for the worst employee ever.

I feel he was absolutely correct at the time when he claimed Nate Diaz wasn’t a needle mover. His lone title shot was free on Fox because everyone knew Henderson vs. Diaz would be a PPV dud as the headliner. I don’t feel like he really became a big draw until he beat McGregor.

He is definitely trying to #@#@#@#@ Nate by throwing Chimaev out there as a possible opponent. His last fight on his contract and Khamzat would not be a fun one. Let him fight Ferguson and have a chance to go out with a W, the man has done enough for the UFC.

Connor made $30 mil boxing Mayweather vs $5 mil (his biggest UFC purse). If he beats Colby, there’s not many big money fights except maybe Chimaev. Not sure his purse for UFC 268, but he could possibly make 6-10 x’s more boxing Canelo.

Gaethje ate some hard shots to the chin there - crazy first round.

Edit: Epic fight - respect to both fighters, but Gaethje was just a notch better. Wouldn't mind seeing a 5-round rematch.
