That's NUTS. I'm sure some of them had laptops & were furiously applying for jobs while waiting ...

I ran into a Walmart yesterday & didn't see anyone although that explains why the shelves were barren.

On a getaway in Missoula MT where the target has a couple different 18 factory sets and some 19 update gravity feed packs.

I was in MT late June and they were all cleared out at every Walmart and Target.

They are all switching up their routines this week (ok most in case someone wants to correct me and tell me theirs didn’t) at both Walmart and target so they don’t get hassled as much. They are also getting in and out as quick as they can. In my area the reps at target might spend an hour or two rearranging the display sometimes, but this week they are dumping product and getting out as quick as they can.

After seeing first hand this week how these flippers behave when a rep is stocking, I totally understand why the reps want to avoid these freaks as much as possible. Dudes literally shoving each other over Chronicles basketball, while little kids stand wide-eyed and confused outside the scuffle...

Someone's gonna get hurt, sue the store, distributor, manufacturer, and the makers of the linoleum their butt lands on for 100 million. Retail really will be over.

During my long (mostly fruitless) hunt today, ran into the rep at a Target stocking that I had run into before. Sadly, she didn't have anything. Interestingly though, she told me she doesn't work for Excell and not a Target employee either. Apparently Excell hired her/her company to do the stocking at this particular store. Not sure how common that is.

Only went to one target today. Got there when the vendor was wheeling the cart out. All Excell boxes were opened. As you guessed it, all NBA Chronicles we’re gone but there was plenty of Topps Chrome. Pulled a Brandon Rodgers auto, Trout SP and a Robert RC. All from 3 different hanger boxes so I really live those hanger boxes now especially with the Topps Fire preview cards.

I’m done looking for Chronicles basketball...out of I would say 8 targets, only one had basketball.

Congrats to all who found product this week, better luck next week to those who didn’t!

I can’t speak for all areas, but by and large the drops are over for the week, take a few days off from the hunt to rest and recharge unless you know your area has a history of stocking on the weekend. The ROI on the hunt drops precipitously after Friday. Work smarter not harder! Use what you learned this week to be sharper next week.

I'm reading that there are sometimes groups of people that will wait next to the cards for hours if they think a restock is coming. Do they form a line? Is it a freeforall once they get on the shelves?

In my store yes people wait in the aisle because the rep keeps the same schedule every week. Basically it’s an agreement to split it evenly.

Yep, after coming up pretty much empty on my last two big trips, I'm going to switch up my route next time and target a few stores much earlier in the day. Pretty much go in reverse order of what I've been doing to some degree but still target the few stores where I have a rough idea of the stocking times as I normally do.

I stopped at my local Target for the first time since February. Figured I'd grab a blaster or hanger box of something because I haven't opened any retail in months. Found absolutely nothing. No sports at all in the aisle. Took a walk back through the toy section because I've gotten mega boxes there in the past...nothing!

My target has been bare for last few months...

So funny how it has changed..

just 2 years ago... 2018 mega boxes came in so much.. by the end of the year dozens of them were just sitting there for weeks... i just could not get myself to buy anymore..

i had like 100
