Same, I am in for 4. Worth the risk @ MSRP.

I feel like the downside is very limited (when do online exclusives lose value?) and the upside is decent. Easy decision in my view. Completely understand the hesitation based on the lack of info, though.

Grabbed 2. Agree that it's worth the risk. Even if I decide not to rip after we get more info, seems very unlikely that they'll be reselling for less than I paid.

I did the same. I saw one of the B&W mini diamond refractors on Twitter and those look EXTREMELY niceeeee.

Exactly. Especially if these land on the other end of the spectrum in terms of regular numbered parallels (like Topps UK, Finest Flashbacks, Ben Baller, etc. - where these online exclusives come packed with parallel opportunities) - I'm not going into these expecting that, but it could be possible. Also know that we are in the downswing with wax prices but $100 a box isn't egregious.

Full sized - the mini diamond parallels probably led to that confusion - it is just the size of the diamonds on the card - think like a speckle refractor.

Total guess here, but I am under the impression the "mini" in the parallel name is in reference to the size of the diamonds/shimmer on the card. I assume these are full size.

The one example on Twitter looked like a regular-sized auto card but difficult to tell for sure.

Not that you need any more convincing, but 4 boxes calculates to the ability of you to open one, your wife to open one, and your kids to battle out who opens the other two.

Hahaha, right

We know how this goes

4 kids, 4 boxes

They'll be thrilled, and wife doesn't care as much

These are regular card sized. Topps specific wording puts a hyphen in between the words mini and diamond:

BLACK & WHITE MINI-DIAMOND REFRACTOR PARALLELS

This grammatically states that the parallel is of a black and white small diamond pattern type of refractor, although I can see how the word mini throws off some people.

Got 2, figured online exclusive will at least retain value if not go up

Got 4 (which I was guessing was the limit) and am stoked! The last time I bought hobby boxes of this product was in 2017 I think. And I know this isn't hobby, but it feels close to it. I love this product and just wanna build a base set and get some cool looking parallels from it, which it sounds like this will provide. Don't need to pay another $120 for two scrub autos.

I hope this is a big hit and Topps keeps doing stuff like this, at least for these core products. Well, as long is Topps is able to produce licensed baseball cards haha. The only potential downside is I'm gonna be on vacation and won't even see these boxes till November. So hopefully they don't tank during that time and make me regret not waiting to buy in the after market!

That's a long vacation! Enjoy.

In for 2, maybe there will be some surprises with an online only release

I hesitated here but given most seem to think this is worth the risk, I bought my 4.

The fact that Topps has two other baseball hobby products on their site at prices 10-20% higher than Blowout (never mind the ridonk shipping price and taxes) does make me think it likely these are not worth what Topps is charging.

In for 4, 2/3rd the cards of a hobby for like 1/3rd the price minus pitcher autos seems like a decent compromise. Already got 6 hobbies coming in so maybe this will fill some holes in the set.

Priced like a hobby box 5 years ago with the exclusion of collection clogging base pitcher autos and the guarantee of exclusive parallels. With the parallel driven direction of the hobby currently these are no brainers at $100. Don't see them skyrocketing for a 200% ROI but don't see them losing much value either. Even blasters of Series 2 Topps are still commanding ~80% of original MSRP on the secondary market and these are a much better value. This aint a gold mine but I don't see money being lost on these if you're in it for the flip or hold.

I considered the lite boxes, but the checklist is so brutal (at least today it is). What are people even hoping to pull, Kelenic and Adell SSP?
