Gamepress website has solo raid guides for every level 3 raid. Check it out. It's possible you may need to dedicate some dust to get the job done.

Ive got a whole bunch of Exeggutors, 2000CP and up, but they cant take out the Machamp...do I really need Alakazams?

It was nice to have an event where my wife and I could duo the raids. We ran errands this afternoon and pulled over between stops to do raids. I caught two shinies and she caught one, so we got what we were after.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me gifts regularly, I'm trying to keep up my end.

One of the bright sides to the having fallen off the wagon some is that neither my wife or I had any lucky pokemon when the new trading event dropped. (an event that really seems unfair to hardcore regular players) So now we're working the 1 special trade per day rule and she's got her lucky shiny Bulbasaur she's always wanted and I've got a lucky MewTwo.

You don't necessarily *need* Alakazams but...

If you have high level confusion/psychic exeggutors that might get the job done. Confusion is a legacy move though, and current fast move extrasensory is not very good.

The most readily available attacker is Espeon. Since partly cloudy weather is pretty common, building a team of 6 level 30-35 Espeon shouldn't take a ton of effort. It's attack isn't as good as alakazam, but its got way more endurance. If you can throw one or two level 30 Alakazams in the mix, it will help you getmit down faster.

In the days before legendary attackers, I was using a mixed team of alakazam, Espeon, hurricane Dragonites, and my one exeggutor with that psychic/confusion move set. The exeggutor did the least damage of them all though and was eventually replaced with another Espeon.

Nowadays if I happen upon one it's all mewtwo and lugia.

How did everyone make out this weekend?

I ended up getting 4 Shiny Moltres, but none were good though. I did manage to get a 98% though(14/15/15) and that was my only good one throughout the day. My group managed 47 raids today, but we had problems with the game. We definitely could have done 50 if it weren't for that. 2 groups in the UK and somewhere else managed to do 70 which is absolutely bonkers knowing the pace we go at.

I caught my 10th shiny Swablu on my plus during the event as well.

Also hatched a 100% Dratini, and had encounters with a 100% Jynx, Eevee, and a 98% Spinda.

Im not going to make my 10M dust. but I will have over 9. Roughly about 2.3M in dust this event.

Waiting for that ultra unlock announcement. I've been calling a Mewtwo day for a while. its been out for a year, and they can use Deoxys to replace it since we will be into Gen 4 soon. Plus if they announced it earlier, no one would have been using raid passes for Moltres haha

What a good birthday present for me. I've been wanting a Mewtwo for awhile but impossible to get in my town. The Moltres event would have been a complete flop, much like the Zapdos event, but I lucked out and one of my last raids got a 100 IV. My first 100% legendary. Didn't even get a shiny. We knocked out 17 raids, hitting every gym in three towns.


My girlfriends account in three straight raids a few weeks ago got a 100 IV Registeel a Shiny Ho Oh and her next raid a 100% Regirock. She is so lucky its insane. Not to mention she got a 100% IV Eevee (I believe from her research).

Mewtwo is gonna be so uber common now I'm going to regret some of the ones I've powered up and all the rare candy I used. Oh well.

I stopped powering up anything that wasn't 96% IV or higher. I realize long ago its only a matter of time before the game hands out every pokemon like candy on Halloween. I still don't have the second and third evolution of my Bagon because my highest is only a 93% but I know sooner or later the game will have a Bagon day.

i understand why niantic does what they do. they want to draw people who used to play back. they want new players. but those who started from the beginning often do get screwed a little. everything that some of the hardcore players work for are just handed on a silver platter to those who play very casually to little or none at all.
Body slam legacy laxes, reintroducing legendaries over and over and over again, mewtwos (okay i'm glad it's helping those who don't have a lot of ex raid areas but i've put in a lot of time getting ex passes), guaranteed lucky pokemon..
Anyways, i've accepted that these things will happen, but i don't regret the work i've put in and the dust that i've used because i have the appropriate max counters to take down raids with the minimal amount of people. I just find the reintroduction of things to be a bit tedious after awhile. if i never see another lugia or ho-oh it'll be too soon. i'm ready for gen 4 and an overdue pokemon storage increase

I'm perfectly okay with the legendary reappearances. I thinks its "the right thing to do".

I skipped work to attend xraids because they sent passes out for 2pm on a Tuesday despite the fact that I'm NEVER active at that time... and now I'll be able to collect a handful a day. Just makes me feel like a dumbass. Thanks Niantic =/

Every game does this though. The hardcore player base makes up 1% of all players, or actually probably less. I have 2 Mewtwos. I never bothered to go after ex raid gyms. We had one in the city I work in and you have to go park and walk a block to get to it. Mewtwo isn’t good enough for me to care for that. I’ve done one raid of every legendary since Rayquaza just for the dex entry.

At one point I was one of the hardcore players who would grind for hours everyday. Now I just play at my desk at work and that’s it. I doubt I will even do a Mewtwo raid unless it’s at the gym on the building I work at.

Every game will cater to the casuals. That’s where the company makes their money.

Yeah I got lucky and got a 98% perfect attack in one account and a 96% perfect attack on the other. Will never plan around an xraid again.

All my friends that just got back into the game have lucky Mewtwo now, and I've got things like lucky pinsir, flat on, and ninetails in return what was I gonna do with an 80% 12 attack Mewtwo anyway?

I just checked and it could be possible that they do it. The only pokemon that don't have shiny sprites in the game files are Ditto and Tangela

My wife drove a hard bargain, but in the end I was able to work out trades with her for lucky versions of:

- Tauros
- Lickitung (renamed Luckytung)
- Porygon
- Gengar (w/Shadow Claw)
- Lapras (double legacy moves)
- Blissey
- Shiny Dragonite
- Shiny Gyrados
- Kyogre
- MewTwo

Neither of us had a ton of early 2016 pokemon left, so we each picked the five best from the other's "old" stash and then five from everything since then.

I had already gotten over 100 luckies so i couldn't couldn't take advantage of guaranteed luckies, however i traded with my wife's account and did manage to get a lucky mewtwo still.

And i agree with Chris with the gen 1 shiny. I bet we can expect a gen 1 shiny dump with Gen 4 looming. I thought Gen 4 would be february 2019 because i was thinking they would trickle in shinies and kind of have a few events for gen 2 and 3 and then reintroduce legendaries some more, but i could also see gen 4 coming a little earlier like December. Some missing pokemon will be introduced soon too like Kecleon.

I accepted a bunch of crap from a few friends and gave them things like mewtwo and rayquaza. I got a kid who worked for me a couple years ago that quit playing the game to hook me up with a dragon claw Dragonites, machoke, snorlax, chancy, and a couple machamps and dratinis

Fun day today. The birds brought out a lot of people I hadn't seen in months for raids. Didn't get a shiny bird but caught a shiny Grimer and Magikarp, and also hatched a Kangaskha to complete my Gen 1 dex. Now my next goal is to find a shiny Geodude.
