This is my first full year on COMC so I'm getting used to the seasonality of my sales, but I expected my monthly sales yield would be in the range I usually see in the regular season (12%-15% of total port value) but it's looking like it'll still be in the offseason range (6%-10% total port value).
My 2019 has been my best year so far - and not much has changed. I have been sending in cards fairly regularly but that has been ongoing since 2015 - I have tried to stay as diligent as possible with pricing of my port, about 18k cards so I am sure there are some that I have missed in there, but I do my best to keep them at or near the bottom. Plus I have been running sales more frequently this year as it seems much more affordable than in the past.

Looking at first quarter numbers only (so 2019 will be a couple days short), my last couple of years look as follows:
DOLLAR Growth VOLUME Growth
2016 I set 2016 as my baseline as I was up and running for over a year at that point
2017 16.9% 20.9%
2018 17.8% 13.1%
2019 34.9% 19.7%

Those aren't perfect numbers by any stretch but my sales have been pretty steady in 2019 so far. I have also burned through 90% of my legacy credit at this point, bought a bunch of cards for the PC and have spent a bunch on new submissions.

How often do you spot your account on the homepage? Just saw mine for the first time, thought it was pretty cool.

This is the truth. I'm at a true 50% off right now and things have been flying the last hour.

My sales would be better if they didn't have a fake "free shipping" fee on my $5+ items, kinda negates the point of COMC who doesn't know how to grade a vintage card... and these items are artificially inflated with a "free" shipping charge that I never agreed to....and the whole appeal to COMC totally evaporates....

about 2 months ago, I used the bulk editor to drop my prices 20% across the board then saw a spike in my sales which is still happening...which (IMHO) shows that my prices were a little too high to start - better to get something than just let the cards sit as museum pieces.

I second this. If your cards are priced competitively, they'll sell.

Going to have my 2nd highest month ever, dollar-wise. Quantity was also pretty good for a non-promotion month.

As of today COMC is charging sales tax when adding credit to your account based on your state. I just saw this when going to add funds, then found it detailed on the COMC blog.

Thanks to anyone who purchased from me in the last couple of weeks. I sold the last six hundred or so cards in a port sale and am officially closed out. We'll see what the future holds.

Would have thought they'd give a bigger heads up about it and get a bunch of people to buy credit. Had my few cards shipped to me last night and have $0.19 left in account, probably would have bought a decent amount.

Yes, as a New York State resident, I was charged 8.75% internet sales today on a $10.00 paypal transfer but not last week on a $25.00 paypal transfer. I was surprised considering I figured I'm was just moving money over and not actually buying something. Oh well.

So if I choose to use this credit to get a card graded or buy store credit from one of COMC's partners do I get taxed a second time on the conversion?

If I ask for a refund will, COMC give a tax refund too?

Ebay did not charge me sales tax on my out of state purchase of shipping supplies today so this is COMC's interpretation for NY State and not necessarily a universal application.

So it only applies if you purchase store credit?

I've been trying to add some store credit most of the day, and it isn't working for me...it just sits there spinning like its 1996 and I'm on dial-up. A few of you aren't getting a sale, because I can't purchase the items, since it won't let me add credit. Very frustrating.

Had this problem a few days ago until I shut off adblock/ublock.

Is this legal? I get that a tax is a possibility when purchasing an actual physical item but it seems crooked to charge tax for moving cash from one place to another and that's really all store credit is. I'm no expert in this area but it just feels shady.

Correct, you're "buying" lets call it "COMC Cash". So after that then you aren't dealing in real money anymore, you're dealing in COMC Cash. Like a Stanley Nickel or Schrute Buck, if you watch the Office

this is a good and valid question. it is possible to add money to COMC and never use that money to buy anything.

if i add money and use 100% of that money towards a submission, i have, at this point, not made a purchase. so why do i need to pay tax?

as time goes on and i sell every card in that submission, and cash out, i still have not purchased anything. so why do i need to pay tax?
