Looks like there is less value for the baseball cards in the set, provided it’s not a big name auto or something, and more value in the random names/relics that could be pulled?

I opened several blasters, value packs and a few hobby boxes and didn't get any autos. I opened one of the retail displays purchased via Topps online and hit a Ken Jeong auto. Surprised at what the auto is going for. Maybe the retail displays are loaded this year. Heard of someone else that hit a few autos in the displays.

My case was peak A&G, with a bit of everything. Can’t complain about collation. Three base sets, and 2 cards short of a fourth (C’mon Topps!). Two complete short prints (301-350).

Isn't there value in opening the packs and seeing what's inside? In other words, the original joy of buying wax?

You don’t get 10k cards out of this stuff
Their fake relics have no value
These political buttons you can get at flea markets for a few bucks

Majority of the cards don’t hold value.

I have over 100 rip cards most single rips I pick up for 30 bucks same with my massive book card collection 50-70 bucks for most

Other Topps products like museum collection or triple threads of chrome it’s a lot easier to flip or pull high end cards

I’m not knocking on AG but it’s not the product to invest in if that’s what your going for

wood mini 1/1s. framed silk /10s. bazooka, flag, red, and now Brooklyn back mini /25s, no number /50s are cheap because no one collects them but are limited to 50. If I'm remembering right, they hand numbered them in 2009.

Framed autos, framed red autos, mini autos, mini red autos, art portrait 1/1s, and unexpected $ in cryptocurrency in 2018...plus autos, and more autos...on card!

The Spike Lee auto is a cool add in this year.

Luis Robert and Kyle Lewis framed autos.

A&G was the first card release with baseball players in 1888. Topps generally does a nice job with their annual homage.

You can also get top prospect autos from Leaf for a fraction of the cost of Topps autos, but thats not the point.

Make a licensed collectable with an interesting, authenticated piece of memorabilia and it always adds value over farmer Joe's busted 1940's flea market find.

picked up another hobby box but this time from a local card shop

opened it up today and was a hotbox and these were the hits/what i wanted (Acuña cards lol) outside of it being a hotbox:

Haven't had much time to post, but against my better judgment I picked up two cases from the LCS earlier this week for $1300 each, and 2.5 cases worth of minis for $400 (this was an incredible deal). I finally got around to listing everything tonight.

Pretty bland break this time around. I love Ginter for the eclectic stuff, but nothing of that sort to be found in my two cases. Best hit was a Danny McBride auto, then a Yordan Alvarez rip card. From my experience this year, UD Goodwin Champions was a far better break than Ginter, especially near cost.

Here's to hoping Ginter X isn't allocated.

From all the cases earlier in the thread, Topps totally blew the packout for A&G this year, so it’s either loaded or bust - and mostly bust.
Are you getting ready to take a run at the Code this year?

The way I read through that it felt like you didn’t even hesitate for a second and tore straight into those rip cards!
I have a Banks/Sandberg dual on the way, but generally try to keep it whole. (It’s the “I can rip it any day, but can’t undo it once it’s done” thought that stops me.)

I have never been *less* ready. I'm sure once it gets underway I'll get consumed by it as always, but life is very different for me now than it was when we cracked the last one in May 2017.

Box also had Mini Roberts, ton of SP's, and Roberts Rookie.
