i get the guy sold Lebron some sneakers, but it still seems like he spent 60 minutes on "making" his 20 Topps Cards for this project

they still beat that jackass that made the second Koufax. that guy is stealing money

Why are some sellers on Ebay selling dozens and dozens of Project 2020 cards for approx $17 each with free shipping? After ebay fees, paypal fees and shipping, that's a LOSS of nearly $3 per card. Lowest cost I can figure to buy these are around $14.50 each if you buy 10. Why waste your time?

1. Topps reward points earned
2. Chance at 1/1
3. Brings your own cost down to cards you are keeping.
4. Generate traffic to other sales you have.

Buy 10, sell 9 for a net zero profit, but you still have 1 at the lowest cost, the other 1 are at the lowest possible initial cost. You have roughly $5 in Topps Reward credit that brings your card for your collection down to $10 rather than $20 plus tax. Lastly get a chance at a $4500 Trout, is just a simple example. Lot of work for $10 savings for your 1 card.

Just an example.

It's not ridged. It's a 'black valley' - carved in kinda. Like a car key scratched into it and you filled the scratches with India ink. The opposite of puffy.

And this does change it for the better in many people's minds. It is, literally, different than what we thought.

Some good responses. Thank you. But woosh... what alot of work and LOSS for all of that and the remote hope of a valuable 1 of 1 (and they are losing since you have to take into account shipping, ebay and paypal fees). Be better off buying and holding for a bit instead of tanking the market on your own.

Lots of those buyers are also Topps Platinum members.
They spend lots of money each year and are required to do so to keep their status. They receive lots of perks, cash back etc.
But, if your spending six figures a year you deserve it!!

How much do you need to spend to be a Platinum member?

I’m so floored by the tremendous about support for my paintings and the Nolan Ryan autographed cards. There’s still the 1/1 Gold and 7 Oranges /30 left. Let me know if you’d like any of these Nolans.

I’m happy to announce that I’m launching another round of limited edition autographs cards for my Don Mattingly card. Thanks to everyone for your support with that card.

Here’s the website where you can buy it: https://www.proathleteportraits.com/...tingly-presale.
It’s password protected: hitman (obviously)

Like the Nolan, I have decided to offer a few different tiers, this time the colors and numbers are different based on Donnie. Who can catch the Easter Eggs!?

I am also offering some really cool random inserts and special cards along with auto orders. So, for example, one (of the 5) of the Silver auto customers will ALSO be randomly selected to get a 1984 Don Mattingly Topps Tiffany graded PSA 8!

I am offering these here and tomorrow I will put the rest on my website and/or eBay.

I will still be signing any Mattingly card you bought (for free), and doing that in an un-numbered series in black ink. I plan to do this throughout my set. In that case, you just have to cover the shipping to/from me.

Public Prices (everyone on this board gets 10% off these prices):
Gold 1/1 - $1250 – SOLD OUT
Silver /5 - $700
Marlin Teal /8 - $500
Columbus Clippers Light Blue /19 - $275
Yankee Blue /23 - $250
Yankee White /46 - $150
Dodger Red /99 - $75

They will have a custom hologram sticker on top, and also ship with a separate certificate of authenticity. This is a pre-sale, and the cards still need to arrive to me from Topps, then I will ship to customers after adding signature and hologram sticker. I know Topps ship times are lagging right now, so just want to make sure everyone knows what to expect.

Everything is first-come, first-serve. The first person to buy a Silver AA will get card numbered 1/5.

You can message me here if you have any questions!

Not all of us.

Are increasing print runs and prices enough to begin to change your mind about this product being the worst since 1991?

You sound how I did as a 16 year old. Trying to act superior because you don’t like or understand the appeal of something. It’s embarrassing to waste so much time telling everyone about how you don’t like something.

Not a frequent reader of these boards - I found this thread yesterday and read it from beginning to end.

I think this is the more energizing things that Topps has done in years, and starting with Graig Kreindler's portrait paintings last year, it is cool to see artists being featured as part of the product. Also cool to see the process behind some of the cards.

Between ebay and Topps I've bought 12 different cards so far. Not everything that drops is for me, but that's what art is about.

My opinion was requested in an earlier post. I responded. There is continuing dialogue.

Hopefully they're worth more in a few decades than 91 Fleer...

Not surprising, but holy smokes that's a lot of Trouts! Even if they were all $15/17, that's still over $200k.

The Griffey/Jeter/Trout PRs are going to be nuts for awhile, especially if the secondary market can handle them.

People who buy multiples help. If someone buys 3 that's closer to break even for the seller. After the window closes the eBay price goes up. Sometimes an Ermsy Trout helps too lol

Well don’t respond to me privately.

Honestly, I like hearing your opinion. We still have 30+ weeks to try to change your mind.

Why would you want to change his mind?

He’s spending a lot of time on a product he doesn’t like - that’s the bit I don’t get.
