I beat the odds, 1 gold star set of 6 lol. My foil cards horrible lol. Oh well hope it’s not a preview of my sapphire box

Caved pretty quick and ripped all 5 that I had in hand. 2 Gold Stars and 3 plain. Nothing for the foilboards. Base, variations, and foilboards all appear to be in incredible shape. PSA 10 pops are going to be very high for this stuff

I bought a blue box Target set tonight. Are the 5 rookie variation cards the same in every set? I got Lux, Bo, Robert, Yordan and Aquino.

Not sure, I know how to feel about target sets... they just 5x'd the print run of all chrome cards, at least.

Broke 8 sets and 1 each of Bo, Aquino and Alvarez 2 Roberts and 3 Lux.

Wow...all horizontal? Topps been reading the forum here? The bottom three batting images are probably better done with a vertical pose.

Hey all, I wanted to share my results for those considering breaking their stash. I picked up 29 across about 11 Walmarts the past two days. Most every display had 2-3 sets missing. Everything else in the card section had been scalped but these. I cracked them all and pulled 12 gold star sets and 1 blue set! I pulled a Robert foil board but the back has several bad nail indentions going down the length of the card so I will be sending to Topps. No other foil boards had damage...

The other foil boards of note were Acuna and Acquino. Pretty pumped on the blue set and eager to see if they announce the print runs soon.

All the factory sets should have the 5 card bonus pack "paper" rookies in a different image than the base cards. In addition to the 5 card bonus pack, all but the blue box generic retail set have an additional bonus. The Target exclusive has one additional chrome rookie...the person that posted the picture of the 5 card chrome set pulled those out of 5 different Target sets.

The Yordan and Lux Chrome variations look like images Panini would need to use to avoid visible logos.

Found 8 green sets in the wild. Busted them all...got 2 gold sets. The only notable foil boards were May, Bichette and Robert.

Interesting that he doesn't check for parallels on the 3rd set but then goes back and checks off-camera when he's opening the 4th set.

A couple of notes on the Target purple box sets. The chrome exclusive base cards are just as thick as the hit cards. That is nice because it is better quality. But as has been noted, the images are lacking and it is almost as if Topps was trying for this set to fail. The PR is double (not fives times) from 2,500 cards each to about 5,000 each for the chrome exclusives making it more difficult to hit any color. Not sure if I will get any more of these sets and may depend on the value of the chrome exclusives for all subjects going forward. The green box WM sets are the go to set this year even though the purple box set is $10 cheaper.

Is it possible the blue and orange are not the /299 and /99?

I think it’s strangely lucky that we have had 3-4 blue pulls on this board and a couple oranges too. If there are 36k out there the chances of a /299 are only 1: 120. Seeing four on the board would imply we’ve opened ~500 collectively. Sure they could have front loaded the retail.

Same thing here! Still solid for $60, but I think we did as bad as you can do!

Definitely possible but for some reason, Topps has kept mum about this which doesn't make any sense. By the way, 12k of that 36k run are the gold stars 1 in 3 sets parallel...so the /299 and /99 sets should be out of 24K.

I don’t think that’s true. Sure 12k are parallels. Of those 12k 299 are blue and 99 are orange. (Maybe)
