Trying to think of a new strategy for P70. For P2020 I purchased all the Clemente cards plus 1 or 2 of all the others. For P70, assuming they aren't horrible, I am going to give Snoop Dogg a shot. I like the Acuna. As far as subjects I would like to see both some inspirational players like Jim Abbott, Roy Campanella represented. Also, characters like Mark "the bird" Fidrych, as well as unique cards, like the Billy Ripken bat handle, the 1981 Fleer Graig Nettles, etc. And maybe even a few movie cards like Sandlot and Bull Durham and players that played baseball and other sports like Prime Time, Bo, and Jordan

My Project 2020 strategy evolved. It has now become well over half the set including a few full player sets, a couple companions and APs.

If I can anticipate where I want Project 70 to go for me, I will, but part of the fun is figuring it out! My only regret was getting 20 on the last day and coming up foilless.

I'll go at least for complete JK5 and Efdot sets, probably all Red Sox and Expos, plus a few that strike my fancy. All 1020 is too many given space and budgetary constraints.

At least I learned this week, that the people using bots do have to pay for the "privilege" and have to pay to be in cook groups, but we normal people are basically screwed unless you just get lucky to refresh (and have it actually work) within 10 seconds of the cards being made available.

But anything limited with 'guaranteed' margin on secondary market, is now bought out by sneakerheads.

[also, I "love" the posts on the facebook group, where someone gets "lucky", lands a card, then offers it up to other facebook group members presale for $250-450. Beck Ohtani isn't a big surprise because of the previews, but it was just what I was hoping for. I'm definitely in for at least one... I'm considering a 10 pack. I work on an international project with a group from Japan and it is customary to exchange small gifts when we meet. We've talked baseball before, I think this Ohtani card might be a cool gift for that niche. Just need to decide if it leans too heavily on Japanese symbolism for a gift to Japanese people (I don't think its too heavy for the intended Western audience).

Distortedd is just the kind of fun, weird stuff that I like in this Project X run, I just don't have the bandwidth to include it. Hopefully she does a player that forces my hand.

The Turner isn't my cup of tea but I certainly appreciate the time and talent that went into making it.

I've wondered why Topps doesn't go to the lottery deal but I guess it would be a pain to run every day. Plus I guess they don't really have to care. They're getting theirs.

I was listening to a Chuck Styles livecast on IG, and he says "I’d rather sell 1000 pieces for $1 than 1 for $1000" so that art can be in more homes, inspire more people. He should run that $1 idea past Topps.

People who use bots don't need to refresh pages since they already have the links to the products already before they even go live.

Yeah totally - I don't know what I want them to do, but I just hate that 90% of the product is sold directly to flippers.

I'm personaly not doing to do anything to game it, but will get really old wasting 30 minutes a day refreshing topps site only to have everything gone before it even refreshes for me.

This is my take at $99. At $299, I don't care how great these are, they are not for me. I'm just trying to figure out how to have a shot, because I know there will be some cards in this that I DO want a silver frame /51 of.

Topps should have placed the APs in the print run like golds and foils. Let the bots get them by buying lots of base. But that would be too hard for them.

The framed Project cards have a little more weight, a little more clink in the case, and they and just feel like the actual mini-art pieces they purport the base to be.
