Yeah, but whenever over the years I would bring up that his auctions didn't behave like anyone else's, that they ran up suspiciously fast and high, I would just get dismissed as being jealous or whatever for questioning their hero.

Of course. It was new money, the fact that only PWCC used the auction format and nobody else on ebay did and who knows what else. Lots of defenders out there from those being paid or profiting from it.

I used to follow the whole trimgate thing about a year ago, back when it was first breaking. I hadn't checked this thread since the initial lockdowns, but it seems like the traffic fell off a cliff. Is there a brief synopsys of what's happened in the last 9mo or so?
With the recent market going bananas and lack of interest in these threads, is it a foregone conclusion that nobody cares about this anymore?

Have you heard of Covid? Also in the last 2 months the market has gone back to normal sales wise.

I think their auctions didn’t behave like other auctions is partially attributable to their extending buyers credit through their consignment service.

And yeah, it’s not exactly surprising that shilling would occur with a business who states that one of their primary goals is to increase the value of cards...

The market is nowhere near back to normal. Many cards are still selling for huge premiums over their levels from Feb. But you didn't answer my question. PSA stock through the roof, PSA submissions through the roof, PSA having to increase prices to cull demand, etc. Is this trimming scandal effectively dead? Have people just moved on?

Need tangible results to keep it moving. Stories are interesting for only so long before people move on.

Agree with Khal. If and when there are arrests of major industry players, this topic becomes white hot again.

PWCC currently selling a previous Moser purchase from PWCC - PSA Cert # 41481790.
Cert number is smack in the middle of a Moser cert run. Oh, and it has a PWCC eye appeal sticker.
Just want to give a heads up to be aware that Moser touched this card before it was graded.

This Maravich card is PSA Cert # 41481788, which was a Moser purchase (and is two cert #'s before the one above), grade bump and resell thru PWCC: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...8#post14770703

The top edge of the Namath isn't straight. There's a slight downward slope near each of the top two corners. The top edge has this shape:

Card was sold on Aug 2018 by PWCC. One wonders if this is a buy back that we have heard about (that is supposed to belong to the FBI) or a consignment from a collector just cashing in.

"Now collectors can buy and sell cards over secure internet platforms, most of which work to protect consumers from fraud while using sophisticated vaults to store auction items. The various prices and trends are calculated, charted, and analyzed like any other commodity. In this picture, one of PWCC's storage vaults can be seen "

I guess they missed this thread and others when writing the article?

I get the feeling that PWCC paid for that article.

Stuff!! People would buy from ISIS if they had a good auction.

did PWCC ever state why they went to private listings for live auctions? Just curious if there is an official statement or response from them on this change.

I’m always curious to know WHO is bidding up their auctions.

With scrambled IDs on eBay we are left not ever knowing who is bidding. The Private Listings are really no different than what exists with every auction house outside of eBay. We never know who we are bidding against.

With all the negativity that has surrounded PWCC which has been presented here, the Private Listings are the last thing buyers have to worry about, imo.

The number of bidders is now masked as you all probably already know. It is much easier for only two shill bidders to run up the auction without it looking suspicious.

Well kudos to PWCC for being even more efficient! I just assumed enough of his stuff was already being run up and nobody seemed to really care. The Private Listings would not discourage me from bidding. Everything else about him discourages me from bidding. I bid with virtually every house and I never know who I am bidding against or what their bids are.

Not defending their use of Private Listing but if buyers do not have an issue with everything else that has been revealed about PWCC prior to this, Private Listings should not really be a factor in deterring bids.

Not sure there is anything that he could do that would adversely impact his business other than raise his shipping 15% or delay shipping for 2 days.
