Something I've always wondered about with COMC.

Let's say I am browsing for some cards and I do a search with the filter set to "recently added". I see a card and it says there are 10 copies for sale. Is the card pictured the "most recently added" or the "cheapest" copy of that card?

Could be any cards showing on the main page, even sold out.

COMC searches by the entire bucket of cards. So, "recently added" would mean that one of the 10 cards was recently added. If 9 cards are priced at 10 cents and one copy is priced at $500, then it will count as $500 in the "most expensive" search. Also, if you're searching just one seller's cards, you only get results for that seller's cards.

I assume the answer is No, but in case I’ve missed a trick... is it possible to add a card that hasn’t shown up on comc yet to the Watch List? (ie I’m waiting for a card - from a 2018 product - that has never sold there to show up)

Nope; you can't add a card to your watch list until it is for sale (unless you happen to randomly see it during a Challenge). However, this is one of the features they have promised to add during the new upgrades announced when they changed their fee structure.
You might be able to do it by searching for the card, and setting up and RSS search or bookmarking it and checking it every so often.

I had a package with some higher end non-sports items go missing. The tracking has been stuck on "In Transit arriving late" since 12-9-18.

I was told on 3-25-19 that this was being escalated to a manager to work something out but I haven't heard from anyone.

Is there a direct email that I can use to get in touch with someone that will be able to help me out with this issue?

I understand all this, but I just want to confirm something more related to my original question.

So the card that is pictured is always the least expensive no matter what your filter is set to?

I haven't heard from the manager.

I sent a follow-up email on 4-4-19 asking how long it would take the "manager" to respond and I haven't heard anything.

Maybe sending a private message to COMC James would help speed things along.

So the card that is pictured is always the least expensive no matter what your filter is set to?

Yes. It's the same order that you would see if you look at the Item Details page. Base asking price + handling, and then by item number.

Most of the time that's the cheapest one first. But if a card is on sale, it might mess with the order. So, if one card is $2 and another card is $1, the $1 card will be the default. If the $2 card goes on sale for 75% off, the $1 card will still be the one that shows as the default card in the bucket.

Once in a while, a card will have a different handling fee than the other cards, because it's in a toploader or some other reason.

I mean, it takes like 90 seconds to disprove this.

Wrong. Search 1996 Topps Mantle #7. You'll see this card in the general search, with 215 cards available. Look at the top left corner wear and the staining on the left side. Now look for the card among the 215; it is priced at $4.00.

Opposite here. I had an insane month of sales. I am planning on sending 300k worth of high end vintage hockey into COMC next week.

I've always assumed it was the first example listed to the site. Does the main image for a card ever change?

Yes, you can easily see them change if you pay attention to Dean's cards. There could be 4 already uploaded previously, but then one comes in oriented sideways, so I know it's a new one and go to it to report error that it needs to be turned upright. Problem is, it could be an old one as well, where it is right side up. Then sideways or upside-down cards get through.

I think the initial hype of baseball season has died down a bit. I think there are way more people flipping players who breakout, but that seems to suppress sales of other items. Sales have been strong for me in April, but I feel like I am working twice as hard as I used to to move items.

If it's so easy to prove/disprove then why do we have several COMC veterans, including myself, coming up with different answers.

As posted before I am having a record year on COMC. But in the last 30 days or so has been a little slow. But I attribute that to releases coming out very soon. 2019 Bowman, National Treasures basketball just to name the big ones. I think people are prolly saving some cash for these releases and then could and should pop back up. IMO
