I have picked up a couple raw NNO to go with my PSA 8 and 9. I also picked up the Update Pointing SP in a PSA 7 for $20. Less than half the cost of raw and probably in the same condition lol

People are definitely not responding to Vlad’s hot streak yet. I won a mystery auto this morning (yes, another one!) for about half of what they were going for at the peak a few months ago. And I just got an Update foil at a Nov. ‘19 price, as well as a foil PSA 10 for a very friendly price.

The available inventory isn’t tremendous, but there are definitely deals out there.

i know this may sound strange, but there are only so many hobby dollars to go around.

MLB is downright cheap when you look at the other three sports

and yet, even MLB aint cheap lol

True... But considering how much people have been spending on Acuna, Soto and Tatis, the dollars will come around to Vlad when the stat line commands it.

I think it's just that his overall numbers don't jump out to anyone that hasn't been following on a daily basis. And he hasn't really been absolutely raking over this hitting streak, "just" consistently hitting really really well. Once he has a huge game or two, I think people will take notice. And there absolutely are huge games around the corner.

Im noticing his higher end stuff hasn't exactly moved to a price I can swing, but the stuff I can buy and buy multiples of are at decent prices.

I do want to pick up something big, but the money just isn't there for me right now.

Good point. The ‘16 orange auto that ends tonight is already above $10,000. Unless it’s the scammer who went after the Yordans yesterday, there’s definitely some high-dollar confidence in him.

Gem chrome sapphires for $600 a pop look really nice compared to what acuna and tatis are commanding.

I have been submitting cards to BGS since 1998. Over the years I have made hundreds of submissions...had a few 8.5s, handful of 9s, majority of 9.5s, a few 10s and only one ever Black 10. Never in all of those submissions have I seen anything like this:

That's a rare grade for sure. Those clears are notorious for surface issues.

A dirty gem! Congrats! Those are really rare. Kind of like an albatross in golf. Even more rare than hole in 1s but less well-known.

That is my issue. 3 10 sub grades and an 8.5. NEVER seen that before. Making me wonder if it’s supposed to be a 9.5 or if this is legit the grade.

Yes, it's legit. The max grade for BGS is typically 0.5 above the lowest subrade, except for surface. If surface is the lowest, it can receive a full 1.0 grade higher.

They've been doing this for a while, and there are quite a few examples out there, albeit rare.
