His AB is just completely skipped in the Statcast gamefeed. I can't remember the last time I saw that

I'll say 155 MPH, 495 feet, 75 degrees

It hit the light tower. If you look closely, you can see careening its way down.

Vladdy doesn’t look like he is enjoying himself. This must be very hard for him as he has grown up always being one of the best in the league and having swagger. He has immense talent, but he is going to need to work very hard to be a perennial All-Star. Talent can only take you so far, it has to be combined with work ethic. Now, I don’t know exactly what is going on, and he may be working very hard. As a Jays fan, I hope he starts having fun again. If he catches fire, we could actually make the playoffs, and scare some people at the same time.

He looked confident as hell hitting that homerun last night. I’m hoping Dante Bichette has done something to help him find his swing.

He’s popped up a couple times today. Could just be a coincidence, or he could be trying to lift the ball. If so, he’s not going to master it overnight.

Halfway through spring training 2021 and he will still be just 21 years old.

I think many people will be kicking themselves when it’s late 2021 and he’s on his way to an mvp ish type season if not 2021 then certainly by 2022

This year IMO is a huge throw away for a lot of young players. Especially those called up this year without any MiLB atbats in 2020.

There’s nothing in his current skillset that would indicate an MVP season is a possibility in the near future. His plate discipline is bad, he’s a defensive liability, he hits too many groundballs and doesn’t contribute on the bases, either. Just so many holes in his game, he’s got a lot to work on.

He has a lot (A LOT) to work on, but I don’t think that’s fair to say there’s nothing in his current skill set.

This. The kid is 21 years old. I just don’t see how you can give up on a kid who’s already hitting the ball as hard as he does and (most impressive to me) is in the 16% of the league for best K%

I mean, worst case scenario simply by the law of averages some of those hard hit balls that are outs are going to turn into hits

This. The underlying stats aren’t always truthful, but i look at strikeouts/walks and hard hit balls.

What site is this screenshot from?I like the way that the stats are laid out in percentiles instead of just straight numbers. My brain shuts off after looking at advanced stats for longer than 5 minutes .

I'm not watching, was it a straight steal or part of a double steal?

I’m not saying Ottavino did his best job ever of holding the runner....but it was a straight steal.
