Not sure if I'm having very good luck or if shiny pokemon are just more common this time around... got a geodude on Friday and both ratatta and exeggutor today. Most of the time I dont get the new shiny or I get one of the new ones on the last day of the event.

Been an eventful 3 days.

Finally eclipsed 20 Million stardust, and started powering things up.

Got a huge Shiny Geodude Friday that was 1130 cp.

Saturday did 48 raids during raid hour. 5 Shiny Raikou, best being a 93%

then today on the way to work I got a Shiny Rat, and Eggy within 2 minutes of each other. Best part was the Eggy was a 93% IV. I'm going to max that tonight.

The eggy's have a higher shiny rate because of the fact they are in the research for this event(send 10 gifts to friends) I believe its 1:75 or 1:90 odds

But no matter how you want to spin it, thats still great luck! I got the same two this morning as well!

I caught mine in the wild leaving the movie theater. Havent seen that quest. Would love to find it though. Dont have any high IV a-eggs, shiny or not.

Funny enough, my dex shows the shiny versions of alolan and regular forms, even though the shiny regular hasnt been released yet

Unrelated, i thought all shiny were 1:60 no? Did i just make that rate up?

1:60 is correct for pokemon that are in raids or research tasks(I thought ti was still a bti higher, but that rate is correct), so if there is something that is set for a special research odds for an event and it is still available in the wild(Like Eggys right now) it gets a 1:60, and that overrides the base shiny odds for all wild species which is 1:450.

another example is when Onix was in research for the shiny in the last even. We had a nest that many friends visited that were able to get 10-12 of them during the week because the rates were in your favor because he was in special research. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I only got one....and it was 13 Cp haha

It seems like you have better odds during events because there are more of those types out in the wild, but the rate is the same.

The only time they are different odds outside of these(so far that im aware of) are Raid Day pokemon(whether it is the hour or 3 hour events) those are 1:20, and community day rates which I believe are 1:20 or 1:25

Also it will. If the shiny pokemon was out before you were able to see it in the dex. When the regular diglet and geodude was out, catching it would show both the Alolan and regular shinys.

Also in case anyone was wondering. If you have a regular shiny, and you want to trade for the Alolan form(or visa versa), you wont be playing a premium in stardust, because it thinks you already have it.

I did get lucky and get an onyx during the rock event. Struck out on lileep, anorth and the other rock types that weren't new

This event alone introduced a total of 16 New Shinys (17 if you include the party hat pichu again) from in the wild and also hatching

I don’t think I’ve Grinded this hard in awhile...and tomorrow Male Nidorans are releases so that hunt is on too

I'm currently in Paris for the month and they added some BS slakoth community day thing apparently because Europe com.munity day messed up somehow. So all the alolan spawns decreased dramatically for the last few days of the event. I did get a few shiny diglett's and one geodude, and have added about a dozen more shiny slakoth's to add to the 26 I caught during our community day back home.
Spending time at the Paris Mall at La Defense is frickin nuts. It is one of the hot spots for spoofers as they are huge clusters of pokestops that are lured up 24/7. The gyms are constantly being attacked. Saw some pokemon in a gym that had been fed 3500+ candies! there is a gym with a pokestop in it that is near impossible to spin without clicking the gym. However, playing while walking in the mall is not fun. There are so many people there, if you take your attention away from walking to playing, you are going to run in to someone. Good part is raids, there is always enough people to do legendaries easily. I have 2 accounts and clicked a raid at the same time and the accounts ended up in 2 different lobbies.
I started a second account a few months ago because I got back one of my older phones and I wanted to see if I could level it up quicker since I made some technical errors when I first started since I had no clue about the game. I have gotten to level 32, and hope to reach 34 before I leave here in 4 weeks. I've been out grinding everyday here, just hoping the stupid slakoth event ends soon, so sick of catching those!

Alolan spawns have dramatically decreased everywhere since Thursday when the Dortmund Go Fest event started. Since the anniversary event is supposed to run through July, I'm wondering if theyll be increased again tomorrow when the Dortmund event ends.
