Good... I don't buy stuff that's super hyped...

I buy stuff when nobody else is looking..

Like when I got that 2015 Giannis BGS 10 for less than 2018 raw copies are going for now.

The difference in taste is pretty interesting. I don’t really collect football aside from a select few Eagles items. Hopefully it catches on and more is busted so that someone can pull a Wentz.

I love the shockwave design. The galactic effect doesn’t pop quite as much as the Supernova, but still an awesome card.

- No RCs in Soccer
- Only clubs and no Nationals teams
- Revolution is like the Donruss of soccer
- Only one release

That being said, they are dirty cheap. Only Messi and Cristiano go for 3 figures as well as some of the inserts. But even guys like Salah, Neymar and Pulisic can be found for less than 100.

Not a bad bet at all. Especially if Brady wins his next game. If that happens all his stuff will probably jump another level. I do like the looks of those cards, but I’m a basketball guy. It’s funny how some specific sets/inserts go for big money in one sport but not another. A ton of the popular 90’s Insert sets in BK can be had for fractions of the cost in FB or BB and look at Contenders Autos in FB compared to BK for the reverse. I guess you never know.

Nice! Shockwave balances it out with the foil vertical lines that you can make pop any color you want. It's a nice design for sure.

Damn, son! You cleaned house. I have yet to get a Star Gazing. There’s something about the starry effect in the background that I cant stand. Thoughts? Thoughts on the card.. not my irrational taste...

I agree that for the galactic effect it would be better if the whole this was the silvery backround with maybe some small gold foil starbursts in there. Cool cards though! I like the Showstoppers a slight bit more though. The foil lines going through those look really cool in the light. It was between the beard or unibrow or westbrook but I decided I didn't have any beard and also most of my galactics are blue or dark green so I wanted to diversify.

I wish there were good Suns or Knicks in these sets cause orange would really pop.

There’s just something about that particular design that weirds me out. It’s completely irrational. I gotta get the Curry one day just because. I know a few other posters think they’re the ish. Maybe I’ll change my mind when it’s in hand.

@ballhawkdawk I'm suprised to hear that you dislike the Star Gazing set so much. They're one of my favorites for sure. Clean design and the foil really pops.

I don’t have a rational reason. It’s that stuff in the middle, and I honestly don’t dislike it for any reason other than it looks like yuck to me. I’ve never had one in hand, so I’m hoping that will change my mind. I have honestly been looking at them more and more lately trying to convince myself it’s not bad. It’s weird.

I made one offer. Got rejected. Given the current prices of things I think it was a reasonable listing, but it landed a bit higher than I felt was in my budget at this point. The Steph Showstoppers set me back a bit.

And speaking of pricing, I was dead wrong a month or two ago. I thought some of the prices early on for 2018-19 were sky high. Those look like bargains now. I don’t have much experience in how the markets move, but I definitely did not expect these things to take off the way they did. I have some regret about not being more aggressive sooner, but I’ve also got some wicked deals looking back on things. Right now Galactics are not a card you can really conservatively chase by deal hunting. You either pay or miss the boat.

Yeah. You are definitely right on that front. I got a few of my Giannis galactics about 200ish. Mid 300s for some high end ones but I bet those would cost me 400 to 500 now easily.

You won that Curry the other night? Really wanted it huh? Haha.

I offered about 365 hoping I caught it early enough that people wouldn't see it before he accepted but he replied to me and said he had another few about the same range as my offer. I got spooked and just paid him what he wanted.

Now I prolly have to sell off some of my other things to pay for it but I didn't want to mess around and lose it.

That year Showstoppers is my favorite card, and Curry is the guy I PC... more on my son’s behalf than for me, but that’s the guy. I let the last one slip past for way less, and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to ever get one. Some of these cards don’t pop up often.

I put in an offer for $350. Figured that was a decent deal if I got it, and if it went higher then so be it.
