Delivered from PSA today, was hoping for a 9 and to be honest I have no idea why it’s an 8. My powers of grading keep getting worse... anyway.. it’s a beautiful card!!!

Beauty the star date 2000 may be the single best looking card I have ever owned. It’s mood changes constantly with the textured surface and shine. One minute it’s all red then it’s black with bright stars like looking at the sky then green and blue. It is the card equivalent of a great trip!

I've been watching the stardate on eBay PSA 9 for about four months now it has gone from 3K to 1500 and now it's back up to 3K I missed out on buying one so I need another dip because this card is a true beauty

I got an 8 on mine as well and i thought i had a chance at a 10. They are hard on these.

I agree on the previous post that it looks like Kobe cards are rising again. The HOF induction will certainly put mass focus on Kobe again and if they time that documentary right it could be a double boost. I've got a bunch of RCs at PSA now and have about 7 or so others ready to go. It's so funny to look at the PSA Pop report and see how few of these there are versus today's RCs.... sneaker bois have no clue...

I got one back a month ago and I thought for sure it was a 10, came back an 8.5?! Only time I've ever received a half grade with PSA.

It seems the grading companies are getting stricter on these now. I'm lucky I subbed mine to BGS a few years back and got a 9.5 and still have in the PC. Have another there now. fingers crossed.

I feel there must be something on the surface from manufacturing that gets dinged or something. I bought psa 8 on the boards a few months back and for the life of me I can’t find a single flaw. Razor sharp corners and edges. Who knows I feel I got a great card at a very fair price. It’s definitely a tier 1 early Kobe card with plenty of upside.

normally won't buy graded, but would have gladly paid this price raw, so why not? love the design of this insert, i know the base is more sought after, but i like these better. I know people have calculated 180-200 silvers for base, anyone have the calculations on these silvers?

Holy crap..i didn't know there were that few. I saw it newly listed and actually was pretty surprised it lasted on eBay for the 30 or so mins it did. Maybe others were that in the dark too haha, thanks man.

Seems like there's a lot of un-numbered Fleer/Ultra/Skybox/Flair/EX cards floating around that were originally serial numbered out of the pack. I always assume these are from the Fleer Auction and actually less scarce than the pack pulled versions.

Probably one of my favorite Kobe's ever. I have one out at PSA ATM (for team color PC) but this Kobe Red on Red with this being his last playing year and all-star game is super gorgeous.
