It’s all good. I somehow rationalized in my head that Prizm FOTL this year was worse than hobby because it didn’t have base cards. Worst mistake I’ve been this season.

You bottom tick the auction at $7500 plus tax, and you list for $10,800....

so if your BIN is hit you make about $2k per box after fees? And if you have to pay any kind of taxes on your profit its even lower...

And then from the demand side...how are there simultaneously buyers at $20k and not people hitting the $10k BIN?

Fascinating study in irrational economics.

This happens every once in a while with figures. They’ll sell for $100 more on eBay when they are readily available on authorized retailer sites. Never got it.

It took me all year basically to stop thinking about prior year prices. Everyone has to accept it is just different now. I just couldn’t pull the trigger on multiple Prizm FOTL boxes, thinking there’s no way these go above 400-500, so I bought just one to bust....whoops. The days of $120/box Prizm, Select, Optic and $750 NT FOTL are over. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still nice margins to be made for flippers , even at these “irrational” prices...they just have to be a little more careful and obviously not overextend themselves if it is something they can’t really afford.

If it didnt sell out we know that less than a thousand people had the coin to drop. (Asumming it was around 1k boxes made? Just a guess)


This tells me a few things.


1. New money or not there are still boundaries.... 8k is big money even for people with big money... Especially if the payoff is a box of cards that you really dont care about and just want to flip. Having 8k in the winds to make 1500 May not be worth it for many... Especially when you factor in all of the risks involved with selling sealed wax.


2. Zion RPAs are going to be a tough sell. Those same people with "big money" may not want to drop 25k +. Collectors are not going to want to sell for less. Could be a bit of a stalemate with many auctions being bid up and not paid for.


3. I wished I had an extra 8k just laying around Honestly I would buy singles as opposed to one box of this if those are my two options.


4. Group breaks will be too expensive. That's what 220 per random team? Half the league has no hope at all. 5 teams can do well... Obviously the Zion is blackjack. But over 200 for one box of cards in a product that is known to have one or two good boxes and two or three duds per case? Ima have to pass.


Fotl is a different animal obviously but I would still stay with that 1 to 3 ratio.


Anyone here buy any to rip? As much as i cant afford it i still want to see it

That auto looks like it’ll fade soon enough. Had a Trae from last years NT and that auto was going quick, was able to get it off my hands though.

If you’re dropping $7,500 per then I assume you have “eff you” money ... if so then good for you ... with that said, if you’re playing the long game, you have no shot to recoup your “investment” ... either way good luck to all who can get their hands on some

I don't see it.

In a couple months Zion & Ja will be on the court in a 9 game sprint and modified playoffs with an insane amount of hype, TV/news coverage.

$7.5K will seem like a steal. You can quote this post in August.

But can you checkout or pay? If you have something in your cart it will stay there until you try to pay and then give you an error message if it's no longer available. Happens all the time with things that sell out.
