You're getting no 1st round picks with KAT, it's not happening. (Also it will put Minnesota in 2nd apron hell)

Yes it's hard.

portland wants an allstar starting lineup player or a huge amount of picks.

miami is looking for someone who gives 2 1st round picks for herro or someone who's willing to offer the "all star" for herro.

any team offering a Herro type of player (20ppg) + 3 first round picks is being declined automatically by portland because miami already offered that....

This was probably the worst offseason for Dame to finally issue his trade demand.

No real great stars available or people that move the needle.

Kind of wonder if this was his final FU gesture to the city after they drafted Scoot and didn't move him.

I don't feel sorry for Dame, though. He's a great guy and loyalty is a stellar quality, but the writing has been on the wall in p-town for awhile now. They were never a championship contender and never constructed a championship caliber roster.

Some bad GM moves, but it's just a terrible situation being Portland during high profile free agency. You'll almost never get a second look of consideration from a real superstar, regardless how much money you throw out.

First beef is with Dame - He tweeted something like show me where I lied to you Portland. Nobody is buyin the loyalty thing, especially now, give it up Dame.

Second beef is with Celtics and probably mostly Tatum. I think he showed how #@#@#@#@ a leader he is in this Grant Willaims release. It showed mostly when his son didn't give Grant Williams a high five and shaded him huge. I know it is something little but he showed that he is way cooler than Grant Williams, the ultimate team guy, and is just the coolest mfer in the world. Well done Tatum, way to get a couple of seconds for a highly underrated team guy that can do everything. I hope your inclusive circle of 2, you and your son, is happy.

Grant Williams. How can I say it. Aaron took the high road when G Willy inserted himself into the Celtics future, saying I'll be that sniper and defender. But all he really did was kiss up to the egos. Son saw through that, can't fool a 5 year old. The writing was on the wall and Smart was next to go. Then G Willy himself. Tatum ain't getting that ring. Had his chance. Unless you think Porzingis can play a season injury free.

Grant Williams is anything but the ultimate team guy. That would actually be Smart, Brogdon, Horford, Hauser, R Williams, or White. He is in many respects the ultimate annoying guy who jaws like he knows how to go up to the basket and finish, or shoot it from the perimeter without the spacing that two Js provide.

By this time, Brad has started confusing himself. Within two years Tatum or Brown will be in NY and Celtics will be in rebuild mode. And honestly Boston has such a built-in fan base that ownership will be fine with that. Brad will get to play with first round picks again and probably waste them--he's no Ainge. But he will have second rounders stashed across the European leagues.

you do have a point, the league is changing and doesnt have time for these guys who are defensive sht talkers like dillon brooks. I hate to love/hate these guys if that makes sense. I dunno, guys like these are like just a little tweak (keeping their mouths shut and flexes), from being what championship teams are made of.

Dillon Brooks just got paid so it seems like the league has time for him

What about Herro to Philly, Harden to Portland, Dame to Miami?

Throw in whatever filler and picks needed to make it work.

Yay/Nay?

salary-wise it can work. It may be what Portland has to settle with and then let Harden ask out on his fourth team.

I'm kind of amazed that the Raptors are still this obstinate - the franchise has literally lost every superstar in its history and only gotten something for Derozan who got a rental.

very happy he’s staying somewhat local! mavs are going nowhere and blazers are rebuilding sure, but he’ll have more fun in portland imo.

3yr/33M with player option in 3rd.

It's crazy how fast contracts have gone up. Herro was overpaid last summer, didn't show much improvement last season and now teams are willing to give up a potential lottery pick to get him.

Yet it makes sense because 30M for a non all-star starter is the standard, if not a good deal.

Mavs had a good draft and added Grant Williams which is a nice addition. They arent world beaters, but they will be a playoff team for sure.

I will never forget when the Cavs game Tristan Thompson 80/5 after putting up 10/11 and making the finals (winning it the following year)

Cavs had to do it as they were capped out with LeBron, Love, and Irving

Was it worth 16 a year? Probably not

But now? 16 gets you a dude off the street

This

Mavs had had a really good offseason. We all know Kyrie is a whack job but if he plays?

Doncic
Irving
Hardaway
Williams
Holmes

That’s legit

With Curry, Powell, Lively etc…

I wouldn’t want to face them best of 7 if healthy

Craziest thing is, cap has gone up 80% since. So Tristan's contract would be for around 29M a year.

Jerami Grant just got 36. I think the difference between those is fair.

Crazy how contracts keep being given out regardless of how much the cap has gone up. At least the Cavs had to do it, the Blazers just chose to do so.

Excellent point. How they failed to cash out Anunoby at the last trade deadline is anyone's guess.

With one of the best players in the world plus kyrie they better be a playoff team.

anything short of the WCF is going nowhere when you have a talent like Luka and even kyrie. can you realistically put them as a top 5 contending team in the west?

After watching Kyrie and Luka play together how can you really buy the pairing? They were terrible
