I am an advocate of sustained high interest rates.

Rich people chasing assets with risk free money is not great for the future of society.

Germany just confiscated $2.17 billion in bitcoin from a guy who ran an illegal streaming site for years. The question, as I see it, is do they, desperately needing cash to continue the NATO Ukraine defense and pay for energy, try and actually convert that into billions in cash?

If they do and this sets a precedent for acceptable central bank strategy, look for a lot more bitcoin rich criminals to be brought to justice (bit bounty hunters), but also inflation to rise precipitously as all that money sloshing around comes into the system and cannot be readily digested into value that purchases tangible goods.

Stick with art and the right cards in the medium and long term.

You have 150k cash today, what are you investing in with it? Bitcoin? Real estate? Art/rare sportscards?

Sports cards is what I buy with tech stock profits.

MM interest rates have been crazy good all year and steadily risen. Sit back and let it do it's thing.

If starting with $150k and no other investments yet, real estate. People will always need a place to live. I have some rental properties now, an apartment complex is next. Ideally one close to a college campus. Those are cash cows.

Just don't buy anything in a new-style planted high rise with like 20 percent occupancy.

I still think it’s not that hard to make a decent wage off selling sports cards. I know of two people who quit their job at the end of December just to do sports cards full time now. A lot of it depends on what area you’re in as well.

I don’t know if you would even need 150k to start!

If you want to spend long hours for borderline poverty wages, sure

I mean how many guys without a brick and mortar retail business are even netting 50k a year?

How much in taxes are they averting?

They MUST be single with minimal financial liabilities like debt, mortgage, loans, etc. and also have zero health insurance that is being paid on their own.

Either that or their spouse has a good stable job or they are single and living with mommy and daddy with all expenses paid for in a very low cost of living area.

I haven't been to a LCS with anything worthwile in ages. Almost all of them throw anything interesting on ebay and sell it there anyway, so all I really use them for is getting top loaders or one touches if I'm really bored and don't wanna wait for Amazon to get here the next day.

My LCS pretty much never has hobby displayed. Only retail and blasters. They keep their hobby boxes to run live breaks on whatnot which I guess keeps the lights on?

Last I went 50% of the display cases for slabs was empty also.

Doesn't America pay their teachers $25k to $30k?

I'd rather sell cards.

Keane the youtuber comes to mind as far as doing cards full time.

I'm not a huge fan of turning your Hobby in to a full time job unless it seems worth it. It would take a lot of the fun out.

It's also still reasonably easy to sell cards. We haven't hit the hard times yet. Wait until people just are not spending money.

I can't believe the prices people pay for Rookie sticker Autos of guys that may never even get past the first round.

Depends on where. In some of the really good school districts where residents pay school taxes, average school teacher salary is $66k, with high school teacher salary around $120k.
