Nostalgia is absolutely a factor for me. But I think that's why most people love certain sets from 20+ years prior. Opening up a box of 80's Topps would bore someone to death if they didn't have a connection to the 80's. But for a lot of us here, it takes us back to our childhood.

I'm sure that was a resident WS collector driving those up.

I was just happy to score a team set(minus Robert, eff this loubob BS) for under $10 shipped. Which I got in the first week or so when prices were kinda soft on singles and team sets.

I'm considering picking a few players in 2021 but I'm not really attached to the 1994 set. It's cool to see the veterans but I'm not quite sure how to price those. An Ichiro Refractor is up and has been sitting for over 24 hours at $130.

I know that I am definitely in the minority with this line of thinking, but I think the 2021 set is going to be more popular than the 2020 set for a few reasons:

- Yes, 93>94 from a design standpoint, but the cards still look great this year and the color parallels I have seen so far are very nice.
- The auto checklist is a big improvement. Lots of top rookies, great vets and the legends are a nice bonus.
- The PR seems to have stayed fairly consistent with 2020, which is almost unheard of in a product year over year lately.
- 2020 was a little under the radar before reaching the status it did. 2021 was very much on people's radar, so I don't think we will see demand ramp the same way it did in 2020.

Again, all my opinion, but if there are cards you want to seek out as singles, I would definitely do it sooner rather than later!

I don't see this product being opened the way last years was. I bet a lot more people hold it unopened due to the high buy in price. Buying singles is the way to go for this imo.

Nothing but complainers lol. $200 MSRP is very fair since obviously secondary market will be instantly higher. Love the homeplate design, I'll be chasing some of those autos

Be glad some of us disliked the design enough not to buy or a lot more of you who snagged a box in the public sale would have come up emptyhanded.

You sound a little bitter. I have no interest in a box in the public sale or otherwise. Can't wait to buy the homeplate autos off the people who break them!

More people interested = increased competition for a limited number of boxes = more customers unable to buy. What's not to understand?

Nope. It just seems as if we're all supposed to cheer for this product simply because it's an online exclusive.

No one has to cheer. I just think it's hilarious people are complaining about the price being too high when it sells for 50% higher instantly on the secondary market. That makes MSRP a bargain

Ok got it. I agree about the price but think the other complaints are valid or there would have been much more anticipation for this. Hopefully it means you can get those autos for decent prices.

You posted like you're doing everyone a favor.

Are you asking for a pat on the back? Maybe a little hip-hip-hoorah...

I've skipped a number of products this year and at no point has the thought even crossed my mind that I should pop into the product thread looking for people to "be glad" that I didn't buy it. As in this case, every product has sold out. Do you really think it matters that you didn't buy it?

Again, if a number of people don't buy, then more boxes for everyone else.

I was also responding to BBases31's remark that people are complaining about Finest so I didn't just pop into this thread whatever that means. Anyway he's referring just to the pricing so that was cleared up.

You can calm down now.

Who cares who bought in and who didn’t. Can’t wait for people to start ripping the product to see some cool $hit with the nostalgia!

Buy in price means a lot simply because the chances you get $200 of value out of these boxes is minimal unless you score an autograph or refractors of the right players. I guarantee you there will be many major dud boxes of this at $200 per box.

Glad that people are speaking up about what they like and don't like about these cards. It's a forum. Differing opinions are part and parcel.

However, continuing to post personal swipes just makes me think that you are so invested in this product you can't see straight.

Jeez, there is a 2020 Luis Robert refractor I need for my set on auction but it's a PSA 10 and I just found out its from a non-reputable seller(breakers.rowe) that's all over the BODA posts. I haven't seen a trimmed refractor but who knows on this one. Bad factors either way and he's performing on the field too.

The easiest thing to do would be to ignore me. Honestly, had a pretty bad day and probably just should not have engaged - just thought your post was a bit odd (one person or even a hundred people in this market right now will not influence availability). I'm looking forward to the couple of boxes we ordered.

Don't sweat it, didn't think anything untoward about your responses. Everyone has bad days, hope it gets better tomorrow
