Default BNC Shill Bidding on his own Cards? Lebron 2003 Exquisite Limited Logos #23/75

Is there any way to figure out if the other bids on this card are people that normally bid on buynicecard’s eBay auctions? Maybe there are other helpers to create a “legitimate sale” to establish a new “value” since one cannot bid against themselves.

After I posted that, I cross-referenced feedback and it all lines up.

dadisthebossrightmom (2) takes a picture of a card BNC owns/consigns and sells it on eBay. The card sells for over $150k.

A bidder with a feedback score of 3882 (which happens to be the same score as BNC) placed several bids on the card, including one for $65k.

That same person who placed these bids bought an Anthony Davis silver Prizm rookie from a seller named carmen.b123 on January 5th.

During the last month, carmen.b123 left positive feedback to BNC eBay profile

"Good buyer, prompt payment, valued customer, highly recommended."

That looks pretty definitive to me.

Unfortunately, BNC has not sold any of his cards as an auction listing on ebay, so it is tough to link the other bidders to him since we do not know their real ebay user ID's. BNC's listings were all BIN/BO listings.

There were only three other bidders past $75K price point on the Lebron Limited Logos. Two of them have not bid on any other cards in the past 30 days

Also this card sold by pc_sportscards (5315) who left a feedback for BNC (3882 feedback score). It is above the feedback left by ebay user carmenb123. Khaldrogo pointed it out earlier

Do we know BNC owned the card, or was it consigned?

If BNC owned it, he's a shiller.

If BNC was the consignor, then there's a chance the owner decided to sell it himself using BNCs old pics on a new Ebay account, and BNC happened to be one of the bidders.

Has anyone reached out to the seller?

I emailed the seller twice but no response. Even if BNC was the consignor, he was bidding on an item he was consigning, which is shady and fraudulent. Either way (owning vs consigning), it looks shady and fraudulent.

long shot here but might as well post it, here is a link to one of the 2 items dadisthebossright mom sold. If you look at the pictures closely you can see reflections of the person taking the pictures. Is it enough to identify the seller? You decide

I'm with Geech that BNC must mathematically be the bidder, but if anyone wants to increase the odds more, even possibly up to 100%, here are the ways that can be done:

If you want 100% certainty, then complete a transaction with BNC on eBay, where you'll have an opportunity to leave feedback. Just prior to leaving feedback, recheck both his feedback number as well as the mystery bidder. Then proceed to leave feedback and IMMEDIATELY recheck both BNC and mystery feedback. If they both have moved up (or down) as per feedback left, then certainty will be 100%.

If completing a transaction with BNC is not possible or desired, then someone can frequently monitor both BNC's feedback number as well as mystery bidder's. If they both remain in sync for the coming days/weeks/months, then I think this would qualify as evidence even further "beyond a reasonable doubt" than Geech's math.

This card sold through Goldin Auctions in the spring of 2017. Here's a thread about it. One interesting sidenote is the second poster is cardsdownunder, the person who started "the" LeBron thread and seemingly disappeared not long after.

I like this. Thank you!

The eBay auction item uses the Heritage auction pictures. The item on BNC's website uses different pictures. The seller does not own the 23/75 card. He listed the item as PSA 10 in the title. He could own a PSA 10 copy, but with only three copies and no image of the card, I think that is extremely unlikely.

Now why the hell is BNC bidding on this item that has an image of the card he either owns or is consigning? I have no clue.

I'm trying to trace the ownership of this thing and I ran into this. In no way am I implying boogielabs did anything wrong, but that Kobe patch jumped out at me. I know it was talked about on the LeBron thread. It's 10/50 - the one that was swapped out at one point. It looks like he posted the Kobe and the LeBron on an IG account with the same wood grain background. The account can't be pulled up anymore but Google images archived some of the photos

So boogielabs ghosted his Instagram sometime between the start of the year and now?

Come on, there are a few ethical issues with a consignor bidding on a card he currently has for sale.

BNC doesn't even have it for sale, he has it as trade only. That implies to me he owns it.

I can't find it at least. But I don't want to imply this person did anything wrong. I just noticed the two cards which have been talked about before.

Most likely explanation is that boogielabs is consigning the card with BNC, which is perfectly fine. The circumstances of this "auction" are baffling.

Here is his cached Instagram.

I can confirm the sale is legit and the card was paid for in person via a 150k cashiers check. Scans upon request.

Looks like he posted it 4 months ago and used the present tense.

I’ve posted this before in the first days of Instagram but this is my favorite card That I own. 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Lebron James Limited Logos Jersey # 23/75. Nice patch. Could you imagine what the 23/99 rpa is worth today? Wow

The four months isn't entirely accurate because it depends on when the page was cached. But if I remember correctly from when I was looking at the page during the Lebron fiasco, that post was post-Heritage auction.

boogielabs taking down his Instagram is pretty funny if you ask me. I guess these guys don't realize that the internet is forever. It may be harder to track the lineage of these cards, but if it's been posted somewhere, we can do it.

Does anyone know if boogielabs has an eBay account. Is he located in North Carolina? Does he own a Ferrari F12 berlinetta?
