obviously you dont get it I said through trades also...but some of their cornerstones in the past came through the draft Sabathia Ramirez Belle Swindell Snyder..

Dude, just shut up an move on. I mean you are arguing about one of the worst franchises in baseball and won't accept that your team is terrible and can't draft worth anything.

It will be interesting to see how not playing first as much will affect Butler. I think Kila will get the lion's share of the games at 1B and see Butler DH'ing 70% of the time. Time will tell, but I'll take the Twins to win the division with Chicago close behind. Detroit will be 7 or 8 out by season's end but will be a close three-way at the all-star break. Just a Royals homer's thoughts.. |

I see the Twins winning the central while the Sox and Tigers battle for second and third.

I really believe the White Sox are probably the team that gets it done this year. Their pitching impresses me the most. The Central is really not very good on pitching, so hopefully that continues to 2012-13. And just like KUHawk, my views are as a HUGE Royals homer, but when someone brings up Ryan Garko as being a star, I can feel good that we can at least develop someone like Butler.

1st- White Sox
2nd- Twins these could go either way it's going down to the last week to see who wins the division. 3rd- TRIBE healthy Sizemore and Santana, Choo is a star 20-20-20 .300 avg. guy. Laporta, Carmona, Cabrera, and Cabrera will have a good year and I excpect a decent year from Gomez, Perez, Masterson, Donald, Carrasco. Screw Hafner 4th Tigers will start strong and fade away as always 5th Royals but I expect a monster comeback year from Gordon. |

The homers on this board are freakin incredible.
First we have the Yankee homers oblivious that Jeter is a terrible defender. Then we have Indian fans thinking they can contend this year. Especially saying how all these guys have BIG POTENTIAL. LaPorta is a bust. I don't see him magically increasing his OPS 150 points among all the other credentials. |

I can tell you the Tribes drafting has been as bad as the Browns and Cavs over the past few years. They have a terrible owner in Dolan and will be lucky to improve on their win total from last year. With such a cheap arse owner they never spent money in the draft until a few years ago. (2008)
As far as the prospect list I saw for the Tribe earlier, Hodges and Mills are both worthless. Right up there with Andy Marte. I'll end on this, I don't think the Royals are going to finish ahead of the Tribe this year but it doesn't matter because both teams won't be a factor after May and maybe April. |

Twins could be 15 back at the all-star break and I'd still pick them as the favorites to win it. Only way they will go deep in the playoffs is if the Yankees aren't in it

Easy gents - no good picking a fight over 4th and 5th place. Personally I think it will be a close race to the cellar for both as they both have huge rotation issues and big gaps on the roster. But with that minor league system, if Moore doesn't keep f'ing up trades and free agency they could be relative a lot quicker than the Indians IMO.
Go Twins.

Someone posted earlier that this is the weakest division in baseball. How is that? I see a few good teams in this division that can do some damage in the playoffs, if they do not beat each other up too much first.

well it isnt better than the East because Boston and NY are stacked and the Rays will probably still be decent, the West has the Rangers and Angels, so it may be close with them but I dont see them as better, the NL east is stacked with Philly, Atlanta and the Mets and Florida stays competitive, The Central is good with the Reds, Brewers, Cards and Cubs, and the NL west with Champs the Giants, Rockies and Dodgers...

The Twins will edge the White Sox IMO. If the Tribe could ever put some chemistry together, then they could compete again. The Royals are gradually getting better, but still need starting pitching. I don't really like the Tigers this year either.

I really think the White Sox could not only win the Divison but the American League this year, and I am a Yankee/Cub fan so no bias here. If their rotation can stay healthy youre looking at the best rotation on the American league. That lineup has enough to get it done, Beckham will have a better year, Alexei will break out, and Dunn is gonna be an absolute monster hitting in US Cellular.

I'm dumping fuel on the fire here. I--yes me--picked the Tribe to take the Division. HAsnt anyone ever watched Major League and believe in miracles?
Besides that, I'm already nominating Carlos Santana for AL MVP. And Fausto for CY. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ohhh and also, we signed Orlando Cabrera to a 1 year deal. If he conquers his OB of .325 last year, I'm gonna take this one step further and say World Series! What do yall think of that!? ![]() ![]() |
