I just over 10 EBGames in my area and they ALL have canceled EVERY SINGLE pre-order!
Due to allocation issues. xD

Yeah, not looking forward to seeing some of my orders cancelled.

After watching more openings, looks like the ETB pull rates aren't that great. Standard boxes are looking like 1 V and 1 FA of some kind (FA or VMAX). Of course I have seen more, but I have also seen 10 regular holos pulled from an ETB. Dubwool V boxes seem to give you a better chance of pulling secret rares, though I'm sure for every couple of boxes that are crazy, there are 10 times those that have pretty much nothing.

Based on multiple case openings (10 ETBs), my estimation for ETBs is ~1 SR per 50 packs (so 20% chance of a SR per 1 ETB). There are 7 SRs, 2 of them being Charizards (28.5% chance of getting a Charizard as your SR). This means for any given ETB, your chance of pulling a Charizard is ~5.7% or about 1 in 175 packs.

Are the pack of energy cards in the ETB Burning Shadows worth anything?

That’s a negative.

What's the difference between the Dubwool V boxes vs. the other box options (not including ETBs)? I pre-ordered a bunch of the initial release $15 ones (I know a second batch is releasing in Nov.). Should we expect similar pull rates between the Dubwool V boxes vs. the other boxes not including ETBs?

On the ETBs, I still get the comments that this is likely to be the most sought after version given that it has the Charizard included and just the general look and collectability of the box itself. It just looks awesome. I am hopeful I'll be able to find some of these in store next week!

V boxes have that large promo card which others don’t have.
Then there are also pin collection boxes which contains pins but no massive promo card.

Quick example:

Thanks for all the detail. And sorry, I should have been clearer. I just meant in terms of the pull rates. I am still way too new to Pokemon and still learning but at least have a bit of a better understanding of the different options now. From what I gather, it seems like the large promo cards aren't generally as popular and same for the pins. Seems like the big key is really price you're paying per booster pack and obviously if any difference in pull rates among the different options would make a big difference. And ETBs in general are regarded highest due to the collectible factor (and in Champion's Path you have that nice standard size Charizard in every box).

Different Pokemon products have different pull rates. I know this doesn't apply to Champion's Path, but for example a booster box with 36 packs will yield 12-16 hits. This includes 1 Secret Rare, 2-3 Full Arts (either VMAX or FA), 4-5 V's, and the rest regular holos. Again, this is average, but pretty consistent.

Typical ETBs, Blister Packs, etc. are just pulled from a hodgepodge of packs, so you can get some crazy pulls if the right packs line up together or absolutely nothing if they don't. Buying these are more like playing the lottery -- potentially for big wins, but more likely potential for bust.

In Champion's Path based on the videos I've watched, it looks like they have a more standardized pull rate on the ETB since it is like the booster box for this set. The Pin Boxes are still the random assortment of packs, so they could hit really big (by this I mean you could buy 2 boxes (8 packs) and pull 2 secret rares), whereas the ETBs would take approximately 100 packs to get 2 secret rares.

Of course, if you buy 2 ETBs from random different locations this could also happen, but the prices of ETBs are much more. You can buy about 4 pin boxes for the price of 1 ETB at the moment (unless you can find some at your local Target or Walmart), so that gives you 6 extra packs to find those chase cards.

Question on availability. This releases on Friday if I read correctly. Does this mean my targets that get delivered on Wednesday won’t get it until next week? Was always curious how release dates coincide with delivery schedules.

Not 100% positive, but I know vendors have stocked at Walmart on Fridays for special Friday releases

Not sure about Walmart, but at least half of the Target's in my area stock the ETBs the night before release, so they may actually be available on Thursday.

Thanks guys. I was already planning on a drive Friday. At least now I have a little added hope.

I spoke with a Walmart employee one day while I was looking at yugioh cards and she told me about a bunch of guys who follow the MJ Holding rep for sports cards (I gave up on sports cards long before that) but she told me that the rep comes on release days as well.
Held true for Battle of Armageddon and Rise of the Duelist (yugioh series) and Darkness ablaze so I’m hoping it’ll hold true for champions path

It may also be worth checking local game stores

I spoke to the two shops I preordered at and they said they usually get their shipment Wednesday/Thursday for a Friday release. I know some stores are designated to do early releases if they want to.

Someone just posted in the non-sports forum that they found a bunch of Champions Path at a Walmart today. So looks like some Walmarts will get it a few days early.

What's the big draw of Champions Path?

Just to confirm, there's not much difference between rolling the dice with the $15 pin collection boxes or the $20 Dubwool box bc they're both ~$5/pack and the extras that come in the box aren't worth much, right?

That's my gut opinion. The ETB is the best bet because it has the nice Charizard promo and it's otherwise just seen as more of a collectible given the nice box. But, beyond ETB, don't think you can go wrong with any of the other formats at MSRP.

Thanks, the pin collection boxes are the only ones that can still be pre-ordered at MSRP so that may be the route I go to chase the Charizard. The ETB box looks so sweet though and I really hope I can find some online at MSRP (doubtful ).

Default Pokemon Champions Path

Nothing today at the Walmart’s I checked.

I’m almost tempted to buy a case from blowout at that price.
Bids on the shiny charizard v full art are over $800
The secret rare VMAX is going to be way harder to pull so I’d assume prices would be somewhat comparable.
