Honestly he's impressed me. Looks lightyears ahead of Lonzo's rookie year in terms of his comfortability on offense. And, unlike his bro, he's actually a good shooter at the stripe. Though ugly, his 3's are going down. And his instinctual feel for the game and finding the open man is superb. He just hasn't appeared rattled thus far.
Adds in a few steals per contest. Very early, but if you project his numbers out according to his limited minutes, it's quite good for a rookie campaign. The problem is that, you will have to account for him going up against 1's instead of backups. Respect though.

I think that's where we have to deliniate the line between paternal hype advertising and reality. Most have arrived at the conclusion that; if not for their father, neither would be in the current position they're in. He built an empire and career for his 2 boys beyond expectation by simply filling the antagonist role. So I completely disregard the rubbish spewed out of his mouth when analyzing any of the Ball brothers. Because at the end of the day, they do not control what comes out of his mouth. They can only control what they do on the floor. Agreed though. I was harsh on him pre-draft and highly skeptical. Expected large lapses of deer-in-the-headlights play just like his brother. It's only what...4 or 5 games though? One thing I can say for certain is that he's far more creative than his bro off the dribble and getting buckets inside the key. That psuedo shotput floater is uggs...but kinda beautiful at the same time. Confusion.

I think he'll be a better player than Lonzo but i think his ceiling is still gonna be like 20-8-7 player or something like that at his best. I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time but that's as good as i think he'll ever be. That's not bad that's actually pretty good but it will depend on how much freedom and green light they give him. If they let him shoot 25 times a game it could be higher. Who knows.

20/8/7 would make him a fringe top 20 player, if not better. I could possibly see it in a few years. The only thing is that Charlotte has such a terrible overall roster courtesy of His Baldness' impeccable recruiting history. Right now it's just a buncha jumbled pieces of mediocrity with no identity. He may be the lone bright spot atm.

As a Charlotte fan, I watch every game and I can say this. IF devonte graham doesn’t start playing better soon, Lamelo Ball will be the starter. I’d give it about 10 more games max and they will make the switch IF Devonte isn’t playing better and that may still be a stretch.
And let me make this clear, you could have never told me this before the season. I did not want Lamelo at all but i knew they had to take him when the first two came off the board. He’s surprised me for sure and you can tell the team loves playing with him. |

The only reason LeMelo isn't a starter is because of his defense. |

Lamelo Ball is so fun to watch. High energy, and really skilled. The thing that has impressed me most is the touch he has on his shot. Really enjoy watching him out there.

He straight up took Embiid to the hoop.
Pretty impressive.

Boi can ball.
If only Zo had his offensive confidence.

I dont mind Lonzo or Lamelo. I actually think its a testament to their character that they dont allow pops to seriously alter who they are as a person. In a weird way it makes me root for them.
Some serious dance mom vibes from Lavar. Oh, Lamelo can ball.

It’s just incredible how people let’s their emotions cloud their rational judgement.
Lamelo looks incredible like, really really good. If you wanna hate lamelo cause you hate Lavar and the ball family, go right ahead but to blindly say he sucks after a bad game (that I know y’all didn’t watch) is hilarious to me. Lamelo is far and away the best rookie in this class right now. Just wait until he’s getting 30mpg. The passes he makes are incredible but his teammates can’t hit shots. His defense is ok for now (it’s not atrociously bad like everyone thought) and offensively he’s way better than everyone thought.

Let me preface this before someone loses their mind on me: *I do not think LaMelo will ever be as good as Luka*
BUT in 2-3 years people are going to look back at this draft like WTF were the Wolves and Warriors thinking. Edwards looks like a guy who can score but not really do anything else and Wiseman looks fine but neither look like they're going to be a game changer.

Rootin for the kid
Even though he was heavily ridiculed for it at the time he obviously benefitted from playing overseas with the big boys. For being only 19, he looks like he belongs out there already. Much more polished with a higher court IQ than I knew he had. Honestly his game is everything that people wanted/hoped for of Lonzo lol |
