Comprehensive Major Player Rookie list - Page 3

Updated with Foden, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr, Pedri, Moukoko, plus lots of retired stars including Jairzinho, Fritz Walter, Gianni Rivera, Robert Pires, Oleg Blokhin and Pep Guardiola. Jairzinho and Carlos Alberto I'm not 100% about, I strongly suspect they have earlier Brazilian releases I just haven't seen them yet

I need to flesh out what I have a bit as there are a few releases missing for the players I already have. Please keep it up with the suggestions, always appreciated.

I'm not 100% but I think Bremner's is 63/64 A&BC.

Quick question regarding Zidane rookie. Does anyone know about his Panini foot 93 sticker compared to his UNFP Card?. As far as I can tell this is from the 92-93 season as well, so would this not be classed as a rookie to?.

So I've included the 92-93 UNFP card as its's his first card and it's close to the 91-92 sticker. The 92-93 sticker is kind of redundant in the discussion as there is a 91-92 from the same series. Essentially the 91-92 is the one, the 92-93 card is there as a curio.

Will try and add some more names this week and flesh out existing entries that are missing releases.

Marcelo would be Panini Campeonato Brasileiro 2006. Gerard Pique I think are his Megacracks and Mundicromo from 2006-07 during his period on loan at Zaragoza from Man Utd, but I have to double check.

Just a quick message of appreciation for fadster, who is one of the best members on BO. Every time i have some doubts about a player true rookie, he will try to investigate and answer. This thread is so important for the community, and comes from so many hours of research that i thought it was worth mentioning.

So Bonucci has a slightly sneaky 2007-08 Panini Calciatori. It's like the one above but some sources don't list all the players on the 4 player stickers and just call it "Treviso". You are right about Chiellini, his is 2003-04 as is Barzagli.

Vardy has a Championship Match Attax from 2012-13, I know those aren't everyone's cup of tea though. After that he has another season of just MA before appearing in Topps PL stickers, Topps Premier Gold and Topps Premier Club hobby cards in 2014-15.

He has a 2015-16 Panini Futebol sticker that seems to be popular at the moment. After that you have the 2017 Revolution (which I'm not entirely sure is 16/17 or 17/18, I think 16/17 but am not 100%).

Has anybody actually seen the Luka Modric 2005/06 Murano Nogomet? I’ve yet to see it anywhere and have only talked to 1 other person who’s ever heard of this sticker, minus the members here,

I've seen a few pictures of it but none have come up for sale recently, although I've seen a part completed album too. A couple from 2006/07 come up for sale recently but with these obscure releases it's often a waiting game.

I believe so, whilst he was in Ligue 2 Panini weren't doing the multiplayer Ligue 2 stickers anymore (like the Papin and Blanc ones).

I'm wondering if you might want to add this Reyna card to your list:

I think it predates those other brands you have listed since I think those were released in 2020, and this one was in 2019. It looks to possibly fit your "Grail" definition:

Grail cards = Incredibly rare cards, in some cases too rare to be "the card", not necessarily the most value either
