COMC Incredibly Unethical!

Some of the negative responses are amusing. I liked this one. I on the other hand haven't had an issue getting cards from comc. I guess I bought cards that were barcoded.

It's not ideal by any means. This is as bad as the grading companies were, only COMC shows no signs of doing anything about fixing it.

I was getting generic emails regarding an $800 purchase of about 7 cards. They were "making great progress" on my order.. Finally I just filed a chargeback with Paypal and the order shipped the next day.

What killed it for me was sending 2 cards that I paid good money into just sleeves and I paid $4.99 for shipping. I avoid COMC at all cost no matter if I'm getting a steal. I also avoid Upper Deck ePack because COMC does their shipping. COMC wasn't bad to me until this year.

One order from epack requested 10/31/20 no idea if sent by comc.

Two orders from comc themselves: one requested in November meant to ship first week of Feb - yet to be shipped and the other order was requested in December meant to ship in March - also yet to ship. There's some nice cards in there. Total value of all shipments is over $1000 with many cards having gained in value.

The anwer is no.

P.S. Because of this crap I recently liquidated 200 cards in my inventory with an SRP of $1000 for $200 just to get some money back because at this rate it would take 12 months to see those cards - if ever. That was not fun doing that. In normal circumstances I would've brought 75% of those cards home.

BBB complaint seems one of the best ways to get a response, I’ve had luck this way (in getting a response, however no shipment thus far for a rushed shipment due 4/29).

I imagine they respond to BBB complaints because of the way BBB works: if the company does not respond to a complaint, the BBB rating/reputation is impacted. Each time I filed a complaint with BBB, I’ve gotten a response from COMC. They didnt respond to my emails sent regularly to customer service, even ones marked URGENT in subject line.

Their logistical/management problems have been known for several months, if not longer.

I have no sympathy for anybody who is still buying from them.....they (should) know exactly what they're getting into.

If he bought it through eBay, there is a known flaw in their counting where every card is double-counted if it sold on eBay. Or it could have been bought by a flipper well before it was bought by the OP.
I doubt it has anything to do with COMC not shipping the card to the OP. It could, but general incompetence is more likely here, IMO.

I asked this on another complaint thread about COMC. Name another place where you can buy tons of singles for your PC or to build a set at a cheap price with one price for shipping. If you come up with said place, I'm sure myself and others will stop using COMC.

That's why I still use COMC for the majority of my purchases. The cards I need are cheaper on price and shipping than if I bought them on E-bay. They are cheaper priced shipping-wise than if I bought them on Sportslots.

What I do since they started having shipping issues is I buy 6 months worth of cards and then request shipment. All of my cards are for my Yankees PC so I don't have to have them in my hands immediately after I purchase them. The only time I complain is when they miss their promised shipping dates which they did on a shipment I requested December 2020 and they have now expatiated it.

Exactly there is nothing else quite like comc, which is why they are drowning in their own success. Hopefully they can catch back up, or maybe someone needs to make a new competitor whereas they can figure out how to do something similar with less human labor so it scales better.
