I'm all for Butler getting in. I think that was the reason why Jimbo Covert finally got into the Hall. He was the last of the All 80's team to do so.

After Ware is is pretty wide open. I think a strong argument can be made for anyone on the list.

Roger Craig should have been in long ago but his chance is now in the hands of the senior committee.

Ronde Barber should get in
For some reason I thought both Roger Craig and Hines Ward were already in

I’m a total homer……..but I’d love to see Ellard at least make it past the first cut-down…….especially since it’s become the Hall of “Very Good”.
13,777 Career Rec Yards 3x Pro Bowler 2x First Team All-Pro 15, 718 All Purpose Yards (kick returner as well) Not crazy separation from Ward, Holt, Boldin, Johnson or Wayne……all while in the run-first era. A fanboy can dream……

Boomer has no shot? His numbers aren’t impressive compared to QBs in the current era but I felt like he was one top tier of QB in the NFL for his first 6 full seasons in Cincinnati

Boomer deserves a lot more credit than he gets. I don't know if he's HOF worthy, but he put up some very solid numbers for his era and hardly anyone remembers he was actually league MVP.

The first half of his career was better than Kelly, Young, and Elway. Marino was the only one who out paced him. Once we hit the 1990's it almost like he became a different QB- mediocre to below average.

There's no superstar QB, but it's not weak in any way

Its weak in so many ways, sadly. You have 8 new names, and the rest below (in bold) have all been passed over for the Hall already in the past.
And some of these names, have been passed over nearly a half dozen times. Eric Allen, CB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 2 – 2021-22) Jared Allen, DE – (Times as a Semifinalist: 2 – 2021-22) Willie Anderson, T – (Times as a Semifinalist: 2 – 2021-22) Ronde Barber, CB-S – (Times as a Semifinalist: 5 – 2018-2022) Anquan Boldin, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Tony Boselli, T – (Times as a Semifinalist: 7 – 2016-2022) LeRoy Butler, S – (Times as a Semifinalist: 5 – 2018-2022) Eddie George, RB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Devin Hester, PR-KR-WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Torry Holt, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 8 – 2015-2022) Andre Johnson, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Robert Mathis, - (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Sam Mills, LB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 5 – 2016, 2019-2022) Richard Seymour, DE-DT – (Times as a Semifinalist: 5 – 2018-2022) Steve Smith, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Steve Tasker, ST-WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 9 – 2004, 2008-2010, 2012-13, 2020-22) Fred Taylor, RB – 1 (Times as a Semifinalist: 3 – 2020-22) Zach Thomas, LB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 4 – 2019-2022) Hines Ward, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 6 – 2017-2022) DeMarcus Ware, LB-DE – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Ricky Watters, RB – | (Times as a Semifinalist: 2 – 2020, 2022) Reggie Wayne, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 3 – 2020-22) Vince Wilfork, DT – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Patrick Willis, LB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 3 – 2020-22) Darren Woodson, S – (Times as a Semifinalist: 6 – 2015, 2017, 2019-2022) Bryant Young, DT – (Times as a Semifinalist: 3 – 2020-22) |

That is why its weak. It stands to reason, the 1st ballot players to go in are the best of the best, right? Like last year, Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson and Charles Woodson all walked right into the Hall, the 1st time up. The year before, they let a ton of people in. Even so, Troy Polamalu made it his first time up. And the year before that, Champ Bailey, Tony Gonzalez and Ed Reed walked in. And the year before that, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher & Randy Moss all 1st ballot. Here would be your 1st ballot players now. Who jumps out at you as a lock? Are these the best of the best to go in? Or is this class, while obviously talented, weak compare to others? Anquan Boldin, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Eddie George, RB – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Devin Hester, PR-KR-WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Andre Johnson, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Robert Mathis, - (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Steve Smith, WR – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) DeMarcus Ware, LB-DE – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) Vince Wilfork, DT – (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2022) |

Butler is overdue. And with this class being weak, he should finally get in. Same for Zach Thomas. He wasnt the best of his era, Lewis, Urlacher & Brooks. But he has all the credentials to make it in (7 X AP, 7 X PB and 2nd team all decade) Ware, IMO, looks to be a 1st ballot guy. Especially compared to everyone else on the list. (7 X AP, 9X PB, 2nd team All Decade team And he won a SB and he is top 10 in sacks) Sam Mills made the Pro Bowl 5 times, but just 3 All pro. And of those, only once 1st team. Great player, tragic death, but I don't let him in. |

I see Ware as the only lock. I think Hester and Zach Thomas should make the cut. Really unsure after that. Maybe the Allens.
