8 years of bullying a mentally disabled kid = "a mistake" for some people.

Sounds like they parted ways. Smart PR move.

As noted above playing in the NHL is a privilege not a right.
The kid can go to trade school and get his ticket in any number of fields (if he has the brains and doesn't get his lights punched out when he acts like a tool on the jobsite).
But I'm concerned the Bruins even went after Miller since the Coyotes already dumped his a** previously when they learned more about his behaviour.

I think this says a lot about Sweeney and the Bruin's brass.

Neely didn't light up the presser. Bad look overall for the franchise.

A couple more comments I heard today on the Mitchell Miller saga from ESPN's Greg Wyshynski on the local sports talk radio-
- Neely said Sweeney went to the NHL to register the contract and was given the OK.
- now that the contract is filed the Bruins can't just walk away from it.

Meaning that the NHL knew this was going to happen, although Bettman is now saying that the NHL was never consulted and Miller is not eligible to play in the NHL. Definitely a communication disconnect with administration and I'm sure Gary is pissed. Ball dropped there for sure. There is some spin that the contract was filed with the intent of Miller playing in the AHL only and then possibly getting a hearing to jump up to the Bruins. Right. Yet the NHLPA hasn't been notified of any intended suspension or disciplinary action related to MM.
Also means that the Bruins may have to pay out the contract unless they put Mitchell on waivers and he gets claimed (not gonna happen now).
Maybe Jeremy Jacobs told Neely and Sweeney to do it anyways because JJ is the big fish at the governors table? Or maybe he knew nothing and is also pissed?
This is gonna get ugly.

Everyone does make mistakes. Especially middle schoolers. I've watched them try to stick forks into light sockets. They have an uncanny ability to completely turn off their brains.

That said...

Miller isn't a middle schooler any more, he's had multiple opportunities to express some level of remorse and contrition for his actions, and he's had a financially lucrative future right in front of him.

Didn't the Coyotes say when they drafted him that they specifically hoped that to work with him and help him become a leader against bullying?

Only a psychopath burns the kind of bridges that Miller has.

Bruins take down St Louis. The Blues look like a University team now.

Beecher has struggled against bigger & faster players at this level, he could turn out to be one of those 1st Rd. casualties that have been an organization trait, but it’s early and hopefully he turns things around.

Providence is showcasing some of this young talent and their recent Draft Picks are proving they just may be potential contributors down the road.
This information is good to hear. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

The issue, at least with me (and seemingly a lot of others) is not just what he did, but that he has shown no remorse, growth, or apology for it. I think just about anyone can deserve a second chance for their previous mistakes, but only if you're willing to learn from them and grow from them. Until Miller shows that, I hope they keep him as far from the game as possible.
Correct. I’m sure he could also go play in Europe or KHL.

I just looked up Providence stats. What the hell happened to McLaughlin. Kid looked pretty good when he got called up last season but now appears to have fallen off a cliff.

Turns out Miller has still been harassing the victim as recently as...October. "But he was only a kid! He's CHANGED!" Bang-up job by the Bruins to sign this kid (even though they did release him) without doing any investigation at all, and even better job by everyone defending him.

Yup, Isaiah Meyers-Crothers even asked what MM has done to work in the community to help others and rehabilitate himself and gets crickets in return.
So the question still is unanswered- What have you done to show responsibility and remorse for your actions Mitchell Miller?
A coordinated IG "apology" to Crothers a week before signing with the B's just doesn't cut it.

Man, they just keep rolling. Even when they don’t play great, they find a way to win.

13-2. Who would have thought it pre-season?

McLaughlin had one of his better games last night even though he didn’t make the score sheet.

Finally showed some grit taking the puck to the net and had a few quality scoring chances.

Right now the game seems to fast for him and he’s been struggling when he has the puck, needs to shoot more when he does have the opportunities.

Hopefully he starts to show some of that talent we saw at the end of last season.

Edit: McLaughlin nets his 1st tonight

Stellar start for the boys this year. Hoping that everyone can stay healthy and make it through the season intact.

Bruins continue to put up the Wins at home (11-0 ties record), heading South for two tough games down in Florida.

Great to see production from all lines and stellar goaltending from Ullmark, this season is looking promising just need to stay healthy!!

Boston & Providence lead their respective leagues, nice to see some recent Draft picks producing at the Pro Level.

Not a Bruins fan, but have been a Bergy fan forever. The dude just exudes class. The NHL needs more guys like him. I didn’t realize how much he transcends his NHL image until I moved offices to the middle of nowhere in New Mexico and one of our young female staffers has a Bergeron Funko Pop doll on her desk. I asked her about it and she said the only sports team she follows is the Bruins because she read articles on what a good guy he is. Class act.

We Bruins fans are so damn lucky to have him. I’m seriously hoping he gets another ring this season.
