If we're speculating, I would be surprised if the checklist gold exceeds $5k, but just my opinion/prediction

This is pretty shocking. Like you said, the “on record statement” clearly affected physical prices. When people are aware that XX% of the release is designated for epack, likely 30%+, and a $1mil card is set for the physical run…physical product would obviously carry a premium. Honestly if the Bedard is pulled on Epack, I have to imagine there is grounds for a class action suit. Even the way he phrased it, “I’m going to go on the record”, I’m surprised this issue hasn’t blown up in the hobby. I’d be curious to know how many people on epack are aware of this.

It absolutely is. And you can see why UD was upset he came out and said it will be in hobby. They still want the epack money.

Definitely unfair as it feels it wasn't random to not have it in e-pack when every card should technically have the equal opportunity to go in physical/e-pack. Where it's different is this was announced way before e-pack was even out, will some be in the dark of course but I'm guessing a good portion of users are up enough to know that was the word. I mean some of the biggest Topps 1/1's have been in blasters, I'd ASSUME those big cards would be in hobby but the thing is it's not announced, if they announced it was in hobby they in ended up being in a blaster that would be the problem.

I agree with you to some extent. My only pushback would be that it wan’t so much “announced” as it was a comment on a podcast. That said, I had heard about the comment some months back, so word travelled…..but could not actually find the clip until the link was added to this thread…..so guessing the general majority never actually heard it either, and would be able to say with any degree of certainty that it was accurate or not.


If it is actually true, it just feels like something that should be clearly disclosed to ePack buyers, right alongside the odds

If UD knew from their withholdings that the Bedard 1/1 was on ePack, it would be more deceitful to be selling hobby boxes at inflated prices for 3 months knowing the card wasn't in any of them.

UD handled it poorly but assuming it's in a physical box, it's the correct call.
