You're understimating the demand for Wemby cards at all times. The lowest sold price on eBay all time for any raw Topp Now Wemby auto (DD, 1000th point, ROY, etc.) is $1100. 1000th point /99's (no auto) sell for $100 now. IMO Mercury looks more like Nike posters than baskeball cards, but there's no way Mercury's relative prices will somehow be less than random Topps Now cards.

I have no idea how high the singles will start selling for initially, but after a couple weeks I think $200/$600/$1000 is the lowest they could drop like a rock to for now.

If Mercury end up being the top end Wemby product that Topps releases in his rookie year, then I think it will be relatively priced in the future like NT/Flawless, not Eminence.

This product will not have legs like an Exqiuisite/NT for the simple fact that it's a single player release product. This is more akin to MJ Master Collection, or Topps Dynasty to a lesser degree given each player has 5-10 patch autos. There won't be the equivalent of an 03 Exquisite Kang RPA because which card is THE card? There will be so many, impossible to choose.

Having said that, these will still be in demand. Actual GU autos is huge. I can't remember any RC RPA that is actually Game Used as the default assumption is it's some crap photo shoot swatch.

Flawless basketball has had actual rookie year game used material in the past. Game dated is unique in this product.

I think this will do better than people think, and I’m not a fan of unlicensed.

I dunno. 2001 Absolute has game dated stuff from Ichiro and Pujols MLB debuts that don't get much added attention over their other rookie stuff. I love it and think it's cool, but I don't know if it will bring widespread premiums.


That said, this product is really cool.

Do you own one of these? Serious question as aren't his Bowman autos sticker? Not saying Chrome but one of his on-card options would be the one to own in my opinion.
