I have a list of 10 cards that haven’t sold publicly in over 20 years - my goal is to find and obtain at least 2 of them

For 2025, I am piggybacking off prior goals. I am setting a modest goal to pick up about 25 "core" cards over the year for my more advanced collections. This doesn't include common needs such as 1986-87 Fleer, 90s Marvel, and ultra-modern 2018-2024 Yankees Topps/Heritage commons.
Buying 1. Paul O'Neill -- add 10 cards from his playing years 2. Vintage Yankees -- add 10 needs from 1952-69 Topps 3. High End -- add 4 cards, targeting one per quarter. Between waiting for cards to surface and gathering the funds. Sell/Trade 1. Thin the trade box, have purchases from 2 years ago waiting to be listed. 2. Curate the collection -- move what was once PC stuff now collecting dust. 3. Trade semi-PC towards core PC needs. Trading has been halted last few years. Larger trades are harder to complete. Have had better luck trading towards set needs, than higher-end PC cards. Hobby 1. Spend more time reading sports books, comics and organize what I own. My goal is to spend just 25% of my hobby time browsing, searching, buying and selling and 75% time reading and organizing. 2. Attend six card shows. 3. Complete closet shelving in my office room and organize my collection.

30 count card sorter helped a lot, 1 for each team (Nationals/Expos as 1 team).

Buy fewer cards online. Buy more cards at shows. I did this in the latter half of this year. I would like to keep that going but can become impatient.

I'm going to do flat-rate boxes on eBay. ~2700 cards in a full box..

I don't do goals, I do domination. 2025 will be no different than before, it'll mark the 8th year in a row I win the J.D. Power & Associates Hardest Collector Award.

Be more organized, open fewer boxes, sell more junk.
Had some success with #2 and #3 this year. |

Downsize significantly and focus on a couple of PC guys and some vintage. Far less unopened product.

What would you be trying to get for a box like that? I’d be interested in Dodgers depending on the range of years/sets (like a good mix of all kind of years and sets is nice, wouldn’t want all just 1988 or something) and price. Thanks.

Nothing particular other than focusing on my PC player (Frank Thomas obviously) and continuing to add cards I don't currently have. If I had to pinpoint my focus it would be on:
1) 90s inserts and even parallels 2) PSA 9 or 10 Leaf rookie 3) Selling/trading my duplicates - I have so many as I would just buy every Frank Thomas I came across the last time I was collecting 4) Stay away from unlicensed cards unless the eye appeal is really strong 5) Also try to make my focus on cards strictly from his playing days |

2025 Goals:
1. Pick 1-3 rookies and buy nice cards of theirs. 2. Buy wax periodically at Target. 3. Trade some extras/stuff I don't really collect for Francisco Lindor. 4. Keep an eye open for rare Doerr, Williams, and Gibson cards. |

My problem is I want to put together a complete set from the year I was born but I don't have the patience to piece it together over the course of 1-2 yrs. I suck at long term projects and get bored too easily.
