Yes, I find entertainment in a multi-billion dollar company flopping hard and losing tons due to poor decisions. And no, I don’t care what others think of that.

Back to movies, I am very excited for Shinkai Makoto’s new movie. All of his work has been fantastic. Most recently, “Suzume.”

January is usually the death zone for movies...

So far...Den of Thieves 2 the leader $40.2 million....just a shade over budget in 2 weeks...

Wolf Man $27.5 million...2.5 above budget in just a week..

One of them Days..$25 million...almost 2x budget in a week..

Marky Mark led Flight Risk...bombing both critically and commercially...$12.5 million in just under a week...which is 1/2 the budget...

Anthony Mackie said in an interview that Captain America shouldn’t represent America
I’m sure that’s going to do wonders for ticket sales.

what he said was “Captain America represents a lot of different things & I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations. It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity.” Keep in mind when he said this he was doing publicity for the movie in Rome

Does he want the character to be called something else? I'd agree that those values aren't found in most Americans, is that what he's getting at? Or the fact we might be the bad guys in the next world war? Or just general shame in America?

Are people upset with him for saying it?

Still a strange thing to say about a character called Captain America.

Yes, many are upset. He’s apparently already trying to walk it back.

As much as I dislike Marvel and Disney...

The first three Captain America films were Steve Rogers doing what was right regardless of whether it put him on the other side or not. That is why those films work so well. They are about the only Marvel films with anything to say.

Amazing how Chris Evans said the same thing in 2011 and nobody batted an eye.

“Ha, well, to me, I'm not trying to get too lost in the American side of it. This isn't a flag waving movie. It is red, white and blue, but it just so happens that the character was created in America during war time, when there was a common enemy, even though it is Captain America. I've said before in interviews, it feels more like he should just be called Captain Good. [Laughs] You know, he was created at a time when there was this undeniable evil and this guy was kind of created to fight that evil. I think that everyone could agree that Nazis were bad and he, Cap, just so happens to wear the red, white and blue.”

People just looking to be angry over nothing, what else is new?

Those people were already upset and will continue to be upset, no matter what anyone says to try to soothe their hurt feelings, so why even bother?

I hadn’t heard of that interview before today but would have found it just as strange as Mackie.

This makes sense, I was having a little trouble trying to figure out exactly what Mackie was getting at, seems he and Evans were saying the same thing, just Evans was a bit more clear about it. Shouldn't be controversial IMHO.

Not 2025 but Terrifier 4 will happen in 2026 and will be the final Terrifier movie, I guess it's like an Art The Clown origin story.
Terrifier 3 made forty five times its budget, earned almost 90 million on a paltry $2 mill cost.

I stumbled on this today and laughed my ass off. They made a song out of Snow White trailer comments.

It's not a movie I'd normally go to the theater for, but I'll definitely check it out when it hits Disney+.

I liked the old movie where Snow White met the Three Stooges. Unfortunately, Curly and Shemp had already passed away when it was made (1961), so Curly Joe DeRita is the third Stooge.

I'd like to see a movie where Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty team up to fight injustice.

Maybe Superman and Tron: Ares, that's it for me.

Just watched the official trailer for Fantastic Four and for God's sake will they quit trying to make this movie if they can't get it right? It was total dog crap I don't know if a little kid would even want to watch it it looks that bad. The Thing sounds like a pre-adalescent teenage boy not the rough gruff voice you would expect.

I’m all about it personally, looking forward to it. Might be the movie I’m most excited for this year.

The ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing dressed in the outfit from Barry Windsor-Smith's classic issue of Marvel Fanfare alone makes it worth seeing for me. They did well to get such amazing actors for it, too, not just the leads, but also Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Julia Garner. I wonder what the Surfer will look like.

Since it's Cousin Richie from "The Bear" playing Ben Grimm, they probably should've had him call H.E.R.B.I.E "chef" during the cooking scene.
