Pee wee Reese is a hofer I understand estimate in terms of how quickly people go after his patch card. I'm still missing a nice pee wee patch card. Those are awesome pick ups

Picked up the 96 metal baseball full base set in uncut sheets. Posted it over in the nonsports section too because it basically is a non sports crossover.

Can’t beat Ripken in front of lava, Nomo in front of a volcano, Jeter, Griffey, and Bonds out in the galaxy, and Piazza in some weird futuristic alien world. Also David Justice sliding into the mouth of a dragon, haha. (was he safe?). Love these metal sets- peak 90s with their glorious etched foil and creativity.

(note some reuse backgrounds)

And a platinum parallel sheet to go with it (sadly not the whole set, just one of the sheets.).

Fabiani has told me the artists doing the art in this set were in-house marvel artists- a neat fact I didn’t know. It makes sense since Marvel owned Fleer at the time, I believe.

Local auction pickups today. I collect mostly Aaron and Clemente when it comes to vintage but I’ve always loved this Mays & Mantle card.

Couple of classic pitcher rookies.

And this is my first 89 UD Griffey! Been waiting for a raw one for a while. They’re always slabbed nowadays which is fine. Just wanted one I can geek at since I was a kid.
